I wouldn’t say superior, it’s just another method of close quarters weapon use. I can see its practicality if one were to practice it. You aren’t going to take a shooter who has never done it, send them through a class and then be as good as the instructors. As with most things, practice makes perfect. There is no one “right way” as a real gunfight is too dynamic and you can’t set the stage for it. The best you can do is be very versed on the basics…

pretty cut and dry. two firing positions; first shots to the chest followed by the kill shot; shooting the target closest to you first; search and assess after each drill. Conditioning himself to shoot at another human… exactly what blake b said its another form of the basics.

Good idea for engagements at close quarters. You don’t want to shoot in a traditional target shooting stance at that range and risk getting your weapon taken away.
