Buzzing in My Head

I’ve noticed with the ramping and Anaconda workouts I sometimes get this “buzzing” in my head. I get in an altered mental state where I feel supercharged and superconfident in my ability to dominate the weights. When it happens is when I end up blasting PRs by 20 lbs. I only used to get it sometimes when I would do lower body ME work, which I guess is like ramping.

The thing is I don’t get it all the time and can count on one hand how many times it reached a certain intensity (like that I felt during today’s first workout), though it happens at a milder level more frequently.

So there is definitely something to this CNS hoopla, but I wonder what it’d take to get to that high level consistently.

Finding ways to activate the CNS is a good place to start. Being able to get into that zone on command is the Holy Grail of training. With ramping, autoregulation, the perfect rep and other activation methods we took a step closer to that, but we’re still working on it!

Should I also ask the folks in charge of the gym to increase the feng shui of the weight room?

j/k. I meditate (breathing meditation for 10 min, planning to up to 15) daily.

Lol, good answer. Perhaps you should check out the brain function boosters thread. I believe Charles Poliquin gets his athletes to take vinpocetine before training. I’ll let you find out why

I always had very good results from vinpocetine/fast brain. But afterwards I always crash badly. I don’t know yet if it’s the product or the fact that because of the product I go overboard with my training. I find that a max of Fast brain and Alpha GPC has almost the same effect (albeit shorter term) as speed/amphetamines.
