bazence: CR is very specific. It requires undernutrition without malnutrition. People starving are often malnourished. The people who follow CR try to eat nutrient dense foods, (which I believe is too low in protein) while a starving person will eat anything they can, disregarding nutrition.
I believe it is Okinawa where they have the largest percentage of the population reaching 100. Their philosophy about eating causes them to eat about 80% of the amounts the average person eats.
Zeb: A person studying centenarians found that most of them spent much of their lives living on the second or third floor. I believe this is evidence that exercise, even just walking up and down stairs, can extend life.
