Bushy Needs YOUR Character References

Curious why you think they would give you shit for that.

Yeah… its considered posh - and it is highly likely some will ‘try it on’ because of the assumption that someone with a double-barrelled name is a easy target.

Good job it isnt the case here…

I assume you have had that ‘problem’ since being a kid BBB? Same for me when i moved to the North from London… you either learn to laugh and joke or to fight… i did both quite regularly - depending on the context.

I actually had problems when i went to the States last year, with some kid i acquainted. I gave him and his mate a slap though and problem sorted.
You think at a certain age that shit stops - but not for some.

Brook

honestly i learned more about criminal activaty in jail than anyplace else.

it will take adjusting but you will be fine its not tha trough really your going up for petty stuff.

just dont complain toio much I seen people complain or “ask favors” and they end up causing problems without even knowing it.
not saying you will but I know you will feel the urge to.

just go in keep your mouth shut do your time and get back to the real world.

don t worry about it. i m white not “posh” but a lot of people think i am.

at first people kept asking if i was australian (even the white guys) and they thought i was into surfing for some reason!

pentonville is about 65% black and mixed race guys from all over the world. a lot of them know each other from all over london. its about 20% asian and as a white guy i was in the minority with eastern europeans, russians, cheques, polish, albanians, romanians you name it. all of the white english guys are chavs or serious junkies/homeless tramp type people.

i did meet one welsh bloke though who got 3 years for football violence who couldn t believe he was there.

if you share a cell with someone else doing a similar job to you the tv thing should be less of a hassle.

you ll be more intelligent and probably a better fighter than about 95% of the people in there. but i bet you won t have a single fight. just stand your ground as if you re amused by it don t even react.

even if someone is screaming there head off at you just stare at them blankly like there a ghost or something. totally unaffected.

you have to realise that most people will shout there mouths off but not do anything because they don t want extra charges added to their sentences.

if you ve got anything worth stealing people will try two tactics 1. (radio, cd player, clock etc) ask to borrow it… then not return it. when i say ask i mean hassle you until you push them out of your cell.

  1. if its something your not meant to have (mobile, drugs, roids) they ll get a little gang together to rush into your cell and threaten you . people stick things up their asses but end up having to hand them over!

so if you ve got anything to keep you going keep it to yourself…

i remember being scared of people when i first went in then by the time 6 months had gone by the same people were scared of me and i was pushing in front of them in the dinner ques, stuff like that…

even the hardest motherfuckers are scared because most of them have mugged off many people on the outside and will know they ll bump into one of them on the inside. i had cellmates that never ever left the cell for this very reason. never went to shower , never went to excercise.

most people in jail are basically thieves and robbers. the number one crime is robbing drug dealers. they are absolutely mad into doing this all of them.

all this stuff you see on the news about “turf wars” over drug patches is bullshit. its a group of guys who ve got together to rob a drug dealer.some small fry some big time. happens all the time.

just to give you a picture it funny you mentioned school. cos thats exactly what its like. the excercise yard being the playground. all the trading going on. all the gossip and big talk. whos the hardest? whos the coolest kids all this type of shit… very cliquey. thats why if you get a job on the servery you ll be recognised and given a bit of respect. i just became pally with all the servery lot so had the same effect really.

thats why i reckon you ll be ok cos if you let people know you were making and selling roids people will be intrigued…

This shit is really great entourage.

Good lad.

notice how he said, alot of people are in there for robbing drug dealers?
is that what we call irony?

no mater where you go,good place bad place I have been everywhere almost and i noticed its all in how you carry yourself.
if you look like a sheep the wolves will start looking at you. but if you look like one of the wolves. see my point?

not to butt in yet again.
I have ahd people cut in front of me in chow.
what I did was let it slide, you dont want to have a fight in the chos line and then get put on lockdown and then everyone is pissed at you cause you made it where the ycant eat.

I waited for later when we were all sitting and eating and I walked up to the guy and took some of his food, told him this is for “ME LETTING YOU” cut in line and walk away.

worked for me every time they think your crazy without haveing to physically prove yourself, and you stood up for yourself in a calm and thoughtfull way.

which brings up another point that you must remember
NOTHING IS FREE.
no mater who you are no one gives you anything,if you are offered something like say someone is sitting next to you and asks you “do you want my cake” always ask what they want for it,if they say nothing fine,if they say well maybe your milk whatever then you can barter and hold up your end of the debt.
there may be times when you think a guy was being nice and offering something but then you are in an implied debt and then dude will come back later and want you to pay up whne you have nothing and that looks really bad on you,you dont want to look unreliable.

Agreed - i have been comfortable with the fact that someone with my personality may not stay out of prison forever, and this thread is one of the most candid accounts i have had the fortune to read/hear.

Thanks lads.

See in our prisons here, you dont want to have alot of cash on your books.
people know and they will extort you or attempt to.

have someone add to it weekly where you have a steady flow but you wont have people tempted to come to your for favors.
just walk in confidant, but not like you own the place.

might as well act as comfortable as possible even though its new and a bit scary its your new home for however long you are there for, make the best of it.

I learned how to play spades and chess in jail.
if you occupy your time with something then you are less likly to be talking about stuff on the outside. that can be a huge downfall weather it be talking about loved ones or whatever.

oh and have people visit you,I didnt want to have people come see me at first because I didnt want them to see me like that, but when you are doing the same old thing 23 hours a day, bith day in and day out having someone see your for an hour is a big deal.
other than that I am tapped out on advice I can give you

I also have done door work, loved it
my buddy owns a bar that had the liquor lisc. pulled by the state so he is only allowed to serve beer now. the clientel was that rowdy. I walk around all night talking to really really sloppy drunk girls. wonderful.

oh I may be a little different too becuase I walked in with instant repsect.but also had people try taking advantage of me because I was a kid and small compared to the monsters tha twere in there for murder and assualt.

I had a charge of Aggravated assualt with a deadly weapon with intent to do bodly harm.
and I was like 19 a the time it was an incident where my stepdad and I was fighting over him hitting my mom after she moved out and he had a gun to my head so I stabbed him in self defense basicly.

I was the kid of the group in a max security unit 23 hour lockdown for the first 6 months and then when I was released into general pop. everyone was wondering what I did to get treated like I did.

they say my “door card” which is a paper with your charged and classification and was like holy shit you did that just told them yes I did and I was looking at a possible of 25-life for my crime.

because I was a violent offender and possible lifer at a young age that kind of earned me instant respect. lucky the state which pressed charges couldnt accept the testamony of family members so they had to throw the case out.
not before I spent a bit of time in lock down waiting trial couldnt come up with the 2 million plus for bond.

In the uk jails all the food is eaten in your cell.

and the good stuff goes quick hence the cutting in line.

most people do nt do it in an aggressive way but more a sly push past you way. i used to just put my arm out to stop them then step in front of them and if they said anything just say “ha ha …nice try”

or if their really persistent “i don t think so get back” it sounds really petty but like i said give people an inch and they will take a mile.

people will see you re not to be fucked with after a while.

i had plenty of confrontations but to name one. i remember some guy who was in a gang trying confronting me in the exercise yard starts saying how he s gonna cut me up and all this shit laughing with a crazy fucked up look in his eye .

this was when it was baking hot summer in july 06 and he pulls out a lighter in front of his mates and starts trying to set fire to my chest hair. as soon as he did it i just grabbed his wrist and twisted it and pushed his arm into his chest so he stumbled backwards. i forget exactly what i said but it was something like “thanks for that”.

i just carried on jogging around like nothing had happened. then after that him and all his mates were totally cool with me. they could nt fucking work me out but the test had been passed so to speak…

if you re gonna threaten someone do it in a jokey way. like there was this guy from africa lived in hackney came in the cell as my new cellmate with his shirt off not tall but well built. he had about 7 or 8 bullet wounds in his back and shrapnel in his head.

he was one of these guys that wanted constant attention though and would talk and laugh all the time saying stupid shit.

after he threatened me a few times and i shrugged it off.

so i jokingly said to him i was gonna wait til he was asleep then use his canteen bag (big plastic bag) to put over his head to suffocate him so he would shut the fuck up.

he then starts going " yeah then you ll be happy won t you? you ll get your life sentence? you know that don t you you ll get a life sentence. is that what you want? you ll be in here forever."

he was genuinely rattled even though i wouldn t have done it. he did nt know that.

he piped down a bit after that…

awesome post entouragevip so far.

You keep me glued to your tales, so much better than TC’s articles.

Fu*kin’ell buddy, that’s a tough story allright.

Bushy[/quote]

not so bad charges dropped and I am lucky enough to spend time in county jail and in state prison and still have a clean record
