Bush Lite

Gore reinvents himself every 5 seconds. He really loves the polls doesn’t he? Every debate revealed another personality and none of them were real, just real annoying. I’ll admit that Gore is a great debater, some might say master-debater. He comes across very smooth and ‘slick’ when talking about various bills and numbers. The problem is he that he either has the wrong numbers, doesn’t understand the numbers, or simply makes them up. After 24 years of ‘public service’, I guess he figures people don’t know the difference. Gore doesn’t just exaggerate, he’s a flat out liar, and bends truths to try to mislead people.

His big slogan during the debates about the 1% wealthiest getting the biggest tax relief is just one example. Of course these people get more relief, they pay the most in tax! A 1% tax cut for a person making more money, will of course equate to a larger dollar amount than the same amount for a person making less. Tax reduction percentages would be greater for the lower income brackets though, than those of the higher tax brackets.

Both parties have major problems and our whole political system needs an almost impossible to do makeover. Our government is way too bloated and wasteful, and needs to be reduced. It sickens me to see people that think the government is better off with about half the money that they make than what they would be with it. Bush’s plan still doesn’t go far enough in fixing this problem, but it is a ton better than paying even more taxes with Gore for more government programs.

We also don’t need to put a smug asshole in office that doesn’t know how to deal with people. Can you imagine how Gore would work with foreign leaders? Absolutely none of his programs would get done while he was in office (which would be good) because he can not work with people to get anything done. He couldn’t even handle a few debates with a retard (joke), even when helped by a very democratic town hall audience. What a joke! While both candidates plans have a bunch of questions on how they would actually work, at least Bush’s would actually get done.

It’s also funny that while Bush is not as smooth a speaker as Gore and basically played by the media as a dummy, it is Gore that was actually the worst student, making C’s and D’s throughout college. I don’t believe grades mean crap though. What matters is who can lead the country and be able to get stuff done, without partisan crap. What about the Dingle-Norwood bill? Give me a freaking break. Who cares, he should have told him to stick the Dingle bill right up his ass. How pathetic, we need someone that will work with people and not my bill does this, or mine is better than yours. My bill promises more girth and fitness bunnies in every lap!

Clinton and Gore aren’t the ones to thank for the economy or that the stock market had a major crash this past week. Clinton has been very lucky to come into office just when the PC was starting to become mainstream and the internet was very new to most of us. Major PC sales and internet usage didn’t really get going until around ’92, and’94 is probably really when the internet started taking off to consumers as a whole. This led to a whole new means of communication and a lot of new startup companies and money being poured into the market. Many of these companies are now bankrupt or about to be. Sure many have made money in the market during this period if they had the right stocks, but how many average people really have it better? Is our economy and peoples lives better as a whole? The answer is no.

Well, this has gone on too long. At least I was able to share my view thanks to Al Gore and his wonderful invention, the internet.

Just a few things to vent:

Some of you leftists have a notion that government has much of anything to do with the economic prosperity our nation is achieving right now. The government is involved very little in economics (free trade) and IMHO shouldn’t be. Second, why would you vote for someone (Gore/Nader) who is only looking to make government bigger and a bigger part of your lives? I heard Nader talk this summer and my god, this man is a socialist. For example, he wants to outlaw the use of tobacco! Sure, most of us on the board don’t use tobacco, but honestly, why should the government tells us what we cannot do. Whats next? Alcohol? We saw how this ended up with Populism. Harry Browne is my man. Get the government out of our lives and let us live free.

(BTW, whoever said they support Nader AND Harry Brown, could you support why? They have two very different platforms.)

Paul,

God bless you LN, my sentiments exactly. I just read that article in the yahoo magazine about the internet.

Paul B, My take on FlaxOil’s statement is that he supports H.B and is simply refering to Nader as a further reminder that we have more of a choice than Gore/Bush.
BTW, did anyone happen to see in the paper about the billboard mixup in the paper? I saw where there was a big billboard showing a huge photo of Bush and read in equally huge letters, simply - GORE! It kind of sums up a lot of my feelings on the subject.

Paul B., have you ever heard a single minute of a Nader speech? Your thoughts on him are so contrary to the essential, often-repeated, can’t-get-it-wrong message of Nader that it’s stunning. You think Nader wants government to be a BIGGER part of our lives? Oh, quite the contrary! Nader’s entire purpose in running is his/our disgust that a coroporate-controlled government has become TOO intrusive in our lives, and that government has auctioned off our rights to ever-more officious monied interests–worker’s rights, human rights, civil rights, labor rights, environmental rights, union rights, etc. Nader is far more fed up with a government that abrogates our privacy and citizen freedoms than any politican you’ve ever heard. Citizen privacy from government and corporate meddling is core to his message. That’s why he’s worked tirelessly to defend citizen rights against the corporate dupoloy known as the “two-party system”. Nader himself has foregone any luxuries to do this; he flies coach, rents an apartment, writes on a typewriter, has no credit cards, and lives on $25,000 a year while donating his millions of actual income to public service organizations. Remember, Paul, he’s the one who CREATED the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, EPA, Freedom of Information Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act. The reason for these was to protect citizen rights, and he’s disgusted to see that Clinton/Gore and Reagan/Bush have distorted these acts to regulate and paralyze citizen liberties, auctioning our rights to the highest monied bidder. Why do YOU think that Bush is backed by 66 billionaire companies (the same 66 which have equally sponsored Gore), and why Gore and Bush are both beholden to $10 BILLION each in favors to special-interest groups? Do you think that’s suitable for candidates who pretend they’re representing US?

  1. Bush tells the truth and Gore lies.
  2. Bush is for democracy, capitalism and freedom and Gore is for socialism, mediocrity and censorship.
  3. Bush wants to improve ecudation while Gore and Clinton had 8 years to do that and we are worse off now than ever in our history.
  4. Bush may not be the most articulate person but being president is not about being articulate while Gore who is articulate is also doing nothing but giving sound bytes and trying to be all things to all people.
  5. Bush believes in rules and obeying and upholding the law while Gore thinks rules are not important like when he broke the rules during the debates or when he is for censorship which is against our freedom of speech and expression.
Look Al might be a nice guy and it looks like he did a good job as a family man but Al Gore stands for socialist ideals while Bush is for what our country stands for freedom and capitalism. Remember Gore and Clinton had nothing to do with our economy and if you try and point to Alan Greenspan being on their staff remember he was already apointed by former President Bush and was kept by Clinton. Also and this may be the most important. Al and that wife of his Tipper almost destroyed free speech in the 80’s with the PMRC. What came out of that was the labels on records but if they had gotten their way artists would not be allowed to say anything suggestive, rude, or of a violent nature on any of their songs. Just think about these things when you vote. If all of this about Gore makes you comfortable then this means our countries majority wants socialism and being that we are a democracy we have the right to take our own freedom away from us. But once it is gone it is almost impossible to get back.

As someone mentioned for me earlier, I don’t support Harry Browne AND Nader - I’m voting Libertarian, but I do agree with many of the things that Nader says as well, and therfore I think that he should he kept in mind as a worthy candidate. That was why I mentioned him.

Why do so many of you think that Bush is thuthful and Gore is lying? Think of it this way - if you were running for office and it was a close race, you’d day ANYTHING to get the favor of the voters on your side. Both major candidates are lying about a good deal of what they say, so accusing one of being honest and the other of being dishonest is simply silly. You aren’t personal friends with either Gore or Bush - you don’t know what they say behind closed doors. Now, think about this - for the independent candidates who don’t really stand a chance, yet are trying to make a stand for our freedoms - what reason do they have to lie to us? What can they gain by garnering a few thousand more votes here and there if they in all likelihood aren’t going to be in office? Answer - chances are, they have much more truthfulness to their speech than a major candidate who is wringing his hands just waiting for that chance to be the most powerful person in the world. Think about this, as well: Gore has made a life out of being a politican. Victory would be the pinnacle of his career, else he can only go down from here. Now look at sweet baby Bush Jr. - living in his father’s shadow. Do you think that there hasn’t been serious family pressure on top of everything to make Jr. the next president? I’d be willing to bet that half his reasoning for running is based upon pride moreso than anything else; what son doesn’t want to live up to and exceed daddy’s standards?

I see it this way - Nader could probably be happy living in a tent in the middle of nowhere, so obviously the power and potential misuse of money aren’t his objectives. Browne is a self-made millonaire investor, so he’s go no worries about where his next meal is coming from, so the money/power thing is kind of out of his league as well. I’d put far more trust in candidates who are basing their campaigns around what they actually believe and want to accomplish over what you, the common American citizen, wants to hear. These main candidates don’t respect you. Each and every one of you are nothing more than a tallied vote, a notch on the bedpost from a one-night stand. But, I see that some of you are easily swayed by the smooth talk of these main parties. I find it especially amusing from those of you who say that you hate Gore’s smooth condescension, yet fall for Bush’s amusing country-bumpkin attitude. A note for you - every word that comes from his mouth is planned. In all likelihood, some of his silliness is planned as a polar opposite to Gore’s sturdiness in a sneaky attempt to win over people based on a personality notion for those who want someone who they feel they can “relate” to moreso. But, I could go on about this for hours. I don’t believe that I’m going to change any minds, but if I can make you re-think your choice for even a moment, then my work is done.

Flax

Akicita and Flax, so well put! Very important points!
What I find frightening is that popular opinion about something doesn’t make it right. Is McDonald’s the best, is Slimfast the way for me to get into shape, is Tony Little the world’s best personal trainer?

The information is all there, for those that are caught up in comparing Gore and Bush, IMO, are missing the point. It’s pretty much all been said so I won’t labor the point - but please take a look at what the other canidates have to offer .

Whale thar you Texan, jus go on an vote fer that fine pay$$$ne feelin Dem boy then. Thata way when all yer money is goin to them time proven failure programs them social engineering Dems are famous fer, like Viet Nam fer starters, yer won’t have the $$ to be ‘wastin’ on them thar gyms and such. I feeeel yer payyyyne Monica!!! Jus one more time you Devil in a Blue Dress!!! Oh, that’s right, Al’s his ‘own man’ and he ‘never lies’ which means the guy is an absolute idiot for not knowing his boss was hosing every bimbo in town in which case I damned sure don’t want that ‘brain donor’ as Pres. Of course, the other possiblity is that Al’s lying yet again. Gee, how unusual. Hell of thing this Internet, guess I ought to be thanking that pathological lying sack of shit Al ‘Gorge’ for ‘creating’ it. BTW, seems there are plenty of web sites for this type of spleen venting rhetorical bullshit (Which is loads of fun) outside of T-Mag. I think Barney ‘The Pole Smoking Chicken Hawk Butt Pirate’ Franks and that other ‘stellar’ Dem., Teddy ‘Bloated on Booze’ Kennedy (Damned fine swimmer that boy, and an excellent bridge diver to boot) have a page that might interest you. Jack

Damn! I missed the ass waxing part of the debate. A real crowd pleaser. Must have been getting ready for a contest. Our next Prez can’t have any ass hair. I imagine he was distracted and it made it tougher to answer the questions during the waxing. I believe Gore had his waxed and polished before the debate, which I agree was the more appropriate thing to do. We don’t want to scare young children. I guess this is what he meant by major league asshole.

For those of you with poor spelling habits and improper sentence structure…When you go to the polls vote for B-U-S-H.

All politicians are liars its part of the game. They have sold out on some level, even the best intentions have to be compromised to get anywhere near the goal.
I for one am tired of voting for the evil of two lessers (HA!)and think that anyone who WANTS to be president must be MADD and should therefore be disqualified.
We should draft people into the presidency with certain ,carefully thought out disqualifications. Otherwise, everyone gets their chance to have a crack at it. Maybe that will stop all the B.S. Maybe not. Yes I’m gonna vote-for Gore I guess, He’s a smarter man than Mr. Shrub.

The reason why most lifters want Bush is because they rely on themselves. They don’t look to someone else to help or do it for them. Lifters are determined, disciplined, and are willing to sacrifice for the future. Democrats want help, and look to others to do it for them. Arnold is a big time Republican. Woody Allen? Well, he’s a Democrat. Who would you want to be like? Any hardcore lifter wants Gore probably doesn’t pay attention or is a minority and thinks they will get screwed if a big bad Republican gets elected. God I’m good!

Bush has not sacrificed SHIT, all his answers are canned,he could not think himself out of a paper bag-he would have to ask his Handlers(read personal trainers) how to do it.The only person with any self discipline in that family are the women. His wife and his mother both have bigger balls than he does.

Hey Virago,
Read my earlier message. Also don’t you think it takes some balls for Bush to get to where he is now? Just a thought.

I’ve decided to solve all our problems and run for president myself. The first thing I’ll do as prez is dissolve all political parties and fire half the assholes in DC. Then, all laws in effect will be voted on by US citizens to see if they still be laws. I’m sick of us voting for people to rule our lives. Lets make this a true democracy and make our own decisions, majority rules. The only laws we vote on now are dumb zoning laws and stupid shit like that. I certainly don’t remember voting on making ghb illegal, do ya’ll? All these polititians are making moral decisions for us, persuaded by big business’s check book. In my administration, each citizen will be just as important and influential in making the laws as the next. Right now we live in a society that is ruled by beaurocrats and we are tricked into thinking we are making our own decisions.
