Burpees!

We used to have to bust out 10 or 20 star jumps (almost a burpee) when we f’d up in soccer and by the end of practice we’d easily be doing over 100, although not in a row. I hated those over any other exercise we’d have to do.

Hmmm I am assuming that these are the same that we did every morning for 2mins at crew practice…but we called them jumpees!

More or less jumping up and down, going to an ass to grass squat right?

We would do those then wall-sits… always a rough way to start your day at 5am![/quote]

Ugh…I didn’t need those memories back to the surface. Burpees are a treat by comparison…at least the push-up part gives you a break from the jumping hell.

I don’t know, burpees are a great conditioning exercise, but I for one don’t think they’re of much benefit in a bodybuilding routine (maybe for cardio), and definitely wouldn’t do a long set of them as a “warm up”.

Like I said, i’ve got nothing against burpees for what they’re designed for (conditioning/muscular endurance), but I personally wouldn’t consider them to be particularly beneficial for a bodybuilder (at least as far as building muscle).

As long as you don’t go over 2minutes you should be only stimulating 2a’s so I don’t see anything wrong with it. I understand what you’re saying though.

This is why i’m going to do a minute of them only, rather than going for a number. Don’t want to turn it into cardio.
