People say there’s no such thing as a stupid question… but this may be a stupid question.
INFO:
5’10, about 155 in the morning naked, 175x2 bench, 125x3 OHP, 280x5 squat, 315x1 deadlift, 185x1 powerclean, 18 chins.
My question is, will I burn out if I’m doing something like this
Sunday: Bench: set a 5rm
Tuesday: OHP: set a 5rm
Thursday: Bench: 8x2 @ 50,55,60% of 1rm (alternating every week)
It’s kind of the whole dynamic effort bench idea, with a max effort bench and a max set of OHP in the middle. This is all the upper body push stuff I’m doing, will this cause me to burn out?

I know assistance is a big thing but due to time I can’t really do assistance. OHP os really my only assistance for bench, as well as rows and chins, but no direct tricep stuff. But i may use CGBP asy ME exercise, instead of using my normal bench grip.
Some things just aren’t rocket science. Before I became the fat-assed 235 I am now, I went from a skinny 165 to a lean 195 only by force feeding myself every two hours. I think young skinny guys underestimate how much they have to eat to convince their body to add mass. Unfortunately, that convinces them they are “hard gainers” instead of under eaters.

If I was in a time constraint situation I’d superset/triset whatever my assistance work. Do it as a circuit. Just get a good pump going in your assistance work. If I had to pick one thing that helped me go from 145 to like 182 right now while staying decently lean it’d be good pumps in assistance work and extra workouts. Do it on off days if you have to. I honestly think its that important.
