Bulldog: Working on regaining man card

We had it bad in the yard for a while until I finally killed it all (knock on wood) and I’ve gotten super-sensitive to it. I caught it three different times one season.

Ended up figuring out that 3-4 grams of Vitamin C every four hours seemed to squash it when it got on me. C is a natural antihistamine, so mega-dosing it like that seemed to help a ton. Good luck with getting it sorted out anyhow.

Thanks for the tip with vitamin C I’ll give it a try. At the moment i am floored that my youngest was also helping in the flower bed. Little bastard got away without a scratch! Pun intended.

Saw this on IG, that looks nasty man

Feels like shit in work boots…not looking forward to Monday.

Damn!!! That’s all I can say about those feet.

Sexy is it? It’s the one place that hasn’t really started to clear up.

dude that poison ivy looks nasty
Hope it heals up.

I think I got it really bad and used a two part solution
one was a medicated scrub and the 2nd was some other topical solution

Dude. I hat poison ivy. I’ve swelled up so bad I had to sit in the Urgent Care for 30 minutes or so after the cortisone shot - because my eyes hd swelled shut in the waiting room and Icouldn’t drive home.

I have the stuff everywhere on our property. Mowing season comes around I get it every time I mow and this year I’m clearing a ton of brush. The trick I’ve learned is just cold water. If you know you’ve been around it cold shower or hose down with the water hose. That’s about it. Not hot water that opens the pores and you are screwed. Plus most soaps also have lotions or stuff in it to soften skin. Bad idea. Rubbing alcohol works but cold water is about the best. Poison Ivy…hate the stuff it messes me up pretty good too.

Spraying hot water on the affected area stops the itch sensation for hours. Help it heal faster.

Yeah after you get the rash that’s fine. But to prevent the rash cold water.

And dish soap. It’s actually an oil, so the cold water hardens it up and keeps it from spreading and the soap removes it.

Yeah its almost cleared up…mostly dry skin now

@hardartery ouch I feel for you…I think thats why the wife made me go to the clinic to avoid the situation you mentioned. The shit was on my eyelids but luckily it had not gone ape shit .

@biker I kept reading contradicting stuff on hot water… but yeah in the past and this time I would just go nuts on the hot water to curb the itch

@zeptrey I just went to town with some herbicide specifically formulated for the job. I was covered up …but still jumped in the shower afterwards and scrubbed down with dish soap.

They say you can’t build up an immumity to it but every year out at my place by now it doesn’t really bother me. April to May I’m usually covered and miserable but right around now I may get a spot or 2 for a couples days and thats it. I spray it and the stuff dies…but next year the crap comes back. You almost literally have to pull it out. Worst plant ever.

I think you have to dig the root ball up to get rid of it.
