Bummer about the injury. That’s the one thing that you can’t plan or practice for.

True. Even if he didnt get hurt during the final match. I don’t think he was going to win. Him and his opponent where evenly match and had similar records. BP went in over confidant and thought he was going to beat this kid again. The other kid wanted it more and wanted payback.

Well, heres a Highlight video of Bullpup from this season.

Well I have to apologize wasn’t able to get another Bulldog edition out this week. If anyone has any suggestions on subject matter let me know ![]()
Nice pic, really shows off your arms.
Want to rant? Here’s a topic. Articles on T-Nation about how people with lousy genetics can succeed, which only talk about the author having bad genetics, then building himself up to champion levels . . . then at the end he suddenly admits he had great genetics all along. How about articles actually talking about what they’re supposed to talk about?

The “genetics” Bruno was referring to was the mental toughness of his parents. He is taking some liberties since behavioral traits are not necessarily passed on through genetics but they can certainly be passed down through example (nature vs. nurture). He is saying that the ability to push through and persevere, even when results don’t come quickly, are keys to success.
Focus on what you can control and good things will happen.
Nice log you have here, Mr. Bulldog
I’ll buy that. Problem is, I didn’t even have that. My parents did absolutely no sports or athletics at all. They never supported me on nearly anything. In fact, my mother told me she didn’t want me to succeed. She actually berated me for making straight A’s.
It just amuses me when someone tries to give me his “inspiring” story and it turns out he had it way better than me.
Anyway, the folks here are a kind of family, and I appreciate that. Thanks, everyone.
EDIT: I just thought, Lou Ferrigno definitely had it tough growing up. I was really humbled by his story.
Related story: the guy training me last week was bragging about his 500 lb bench. Assignment one: when you pay someone for advice, why does he turn it into a bragfest about himself instead of showing you how you can do the same thing? Discuss.
He tried to get my sympathy by saying “Hey, when I started, I could barely bench 135.” I told him that I had struggled and fought and strained for 20 years before I could get 135 off my chest. Granted, I didn’t know the right way of doing things back then, but the point is, he never had to learn how to get his bench up to 135 - he only had to worry about getting it to 225, then 315, etc. Assignment two: how many trainers actually know how to train someone to get up to a beginning level?
(Sorry, it’s finals week at school and I can’t help thinking like a schoolmarm.)
How’s the Bullpup’s injury? Hope he gets to wrestle in the State tournament, because that’s where he’ll learn the most.
At his age, as long as nothing’s actually broken, I bet you spit/rub some Vaseline on it and the injury heals like magic.
Killer new avi. Diggin’ the Bulldog additions.

Hes fine …just tweaked his Trap . His ego’s bruised more then anything. Now he doesn’t want to do the state. Normally, I wouldnt force the issue but in this case im not going to rub his “mangina”.

Have you explained to him how he was evenly matched but the other guy wanted it more?
