But when I was watching this I was laughing my ass off. Because I assume that’s his wife/girlfriend cheering him on. Then I though does she sound that way when there in the sack. I know there something wrong with me. But about 29 seconds in it gets funny if you listen and think about.[/quote]
I’m so clooooose. hahaha
Maybe if she slapped him in the back of the head.

LOL, Im trying to say that its refreshing seeing your log and the old school, no nonsense approach, I am guilty as many people are of trying the next best thing when in actuality the best things are always the ones that stand the test of time…so its groundbreaking that you arent doing the new groundbreaking thing

Ha ha ha. I was just willing her to shout “PUSH YOUR HIPS THROUGH DEREK!..PUSH YOUR HIPS THROUGH!”
I bet their kids can tell when Mummy and Daddy are ‘rubbing tummies’.
The more I watch this the funnier it gets too me. At the beginning she say lets do it Derek. During here screaming you can hear the announcer say " This guys a absolute machine". God I cant help but laugh.

Got ya. No, anymore I just want to stick with the K.I.S.S principle. I found when i deviate and over complicate things I end up over thinking stuff or I quit having fun with it.In all honesty my view is this stuff isn’t rocket science. Bottom line go in bust your butt hopefully cause your body to compensate for the abuse your doing to it and repeat. In all seriousness some of the things Ive seen and read as of late seems to be nothing more then modified things from 20 plus years ago.
8/19/11
Warm up : Light db movements
Bench: bar x 20
95 x 10
155 x 5
190 x 5
225 x 3
265 x 3
300 x 3
340 x 3
370 x 1…sling shot
405 x 1…sling shot, I wanted to take a few heavy sets out for a feel. Not sure it was the smartest thing or not.
Illegal width bench: 2 x 6 x 265
Dead bench ( axel bar): 3 x 1 x 315 …DAMN did these suck. Talking about being grinders
bar front raises: 3 x 4 x 65
Hammer curl: 3 x 8 x 40 …who cares.
UGH!!! I don’t know what it was tonight. Nothing felt heavy . But I just couldnt seem to generate any real power. The bar seemed to be coming off my chest in slow motion. On top of that I just couldnt seem to stay tight.
Quick question. Can anyone suggest a good video on say Youtube or else where over proper wrapping of ones knees. I have a pair of Inzers which I don’t use. Because I don’t notice a difference when I use them so I just stick with knee sleeves. I assume because i’m not wrapping them properly to get anything out of them. Since in NASA you can wear them and still be considered unequipped , I decided what the hell and see if I can get any carry over from using them.
The days are ticking away until the next Meet. DAMN!!!Got to say i’m not sure about it. The whole rib injury sorta derailed me. Going into it my current mentality is fuck it. Im going into it with no huge goals. Go in and do better then the last time. Of course that’s not a very lofty goal since the last one was a complete disaster. Well at this time i’m not going to do anything as stupid such as trying to drop allot of weight. Nor am I going to do another 24 hour period without food and water then load up the night before after weigh ins.Screw it! I’m a fat bastard right now and ill be content lifting in the 275’s. Nope i’m going in with just the notion of hitting numbers I know in my gut I can hit without allot of issues. If i’m feeling strong that day then Ill try maybe for some good numbers. I’m taking the approach of just going in and having a fun time and jawing with a few other lifter. I’m not going to put myself under allot of pressure to preform.Besides I think the “Damutt” will be under enough pressure since he will be losing his virginity.
hell Im just going for the fun of it Im not competative
Dog, Frenchie posted a custom video for me regarding wrapping in my log a bit back. Not sure what page it was on but it can’t be that hard to find.
Check this out. It shows a variety of techniques. - YouTube
I don’t feel like I get a ton out of wraps but most people do. This guys wraps look to be pretty long but it will give you a good place to start. My typical technique is starting above the knee and wrapping in a tight spiral down and then back up with most of the revolutions just above the knee squeezing the tendon. I’ve done the X and like that as well.
To get the most out of them, they need to be cranked and it’s painful. It takes practice and time to to get used to getting under a bar with them on. The first time I used them, I felt disconnected from my feet.
Have fun
I’ll be following.
Damutt: Good attitude for the first time. But trust me even if that’s the case you still suffer from the case of the nerves.
Joegood: Thanks Ill look at your log and see if I cant find it.
Ouroboro_s : thanks for the video little lady. I’m planning on squatting in a hour or so . So i’m going to go ahead and wrap up on my last two sets to see if if I notice a difference. If so Ill start using them to get use to them for the up coming Meet.
DJS: Your welcomed to follow along. But I warn you ,it might be boring and uniteresting.

Dammit! Now you’re toying with me! I have yet to even have a dream where I press 405#.
Never used knee wraps. Hell, I’ve never done a lot of stuff. Watching wrapped lifters waddle around, though, has got to do more than just entertain the crowd. I’ll definitely be interested to hear your take on it.

Heck …I was using a sling shot so your safe.
Regarding the wraps. Ive used twice in a meet and never noticed a difference ,matter of fact the messed my form up. This might have been due to the fact that Ive never really have used them in training. Plus for me I found them a pain in the ass. Id rather just slip on a pair of knee sleeves and be done with it. But I have a wild hair right now and i’m going to give them a second chance.
Well…It has hit. My annual bug I get this time of year. Thanks to all the young kids I work with as a youth coach. The little disease carrying monsters!!!
Warm up : normal
Squat: bar x 10
135 x 5
205 x 5
255 x 5…Felt damn heavy WTF!!!
310 x 3 …Damn this felt like a ton. Not to mention my head was spinning and I was sweating like a whore at a Baptist revival. I mean come on this was my last warm up set for crying out loud. So I played it safe and moved on
Deads: 135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1…ugh
460 x 0…Couldn’t even budge the damn thing.
GM’s : 2 x 8 x 135…after second set I had to run out of the garage and blow chow. Needless to say I called it.
Needless to say i’m not a happy camper right now. On top of feeling like hell ,I have to get ready to travel 45 minutes to help coach are first official youth game of the season. Doesn’t surprise me this session was a cluster fuck since the warning signs where starting to show Friday when my bench session felt odd.
You Know You’re a Powerlifter When . . .
You’re sick as a dog (ahem) so you decide to squat only 310 and deadlift only 460.
