We can assume you have not ever been very muscular…so wondering why you feel the need to give advice so much when staying that size and hitting “10%” is NOTHING like getting way bigger and doing the same.

It is not very impressive for a small guy to be lean. You never put in the time and effort to gain any amount of muscle much beyond average.

That is also not an insult…just reality.
Its about 30 lb. of muscle more than the average man.But leaner than you,so why are you giving advice on the cutting side of the game??
Dude, it’s AVERAGE. You don’t have any development that would make someone think you do anything other than train lightly infrequently.

I dropped several inches off my weight in a few months with no cardio. yeah, I do know something about dieting.

What do you know about gaining big muscles?

People look like you with NO training.
so,lean 185 lb. at 5-11 is actually how people look with NO training.so much about your sense of reality…

You post a lot in topics related to getting lean or staying lean, but following the same arrogant attitude of yours,I ask you-

When did you actualy got lean the last time (under 10 % bf)?

On how many your own cutting phases do you base your experience of losing/keeping muscle gained in the last bulking phase?

I highly doubt, you got some great muscle definition on you at any time the last year.
This is me this past November before my motorcycle accident, 3 days before. I could care less what my exact percentage number is, I am not out of shape in this pic nor does it look like I am clueless about dieting at all. I have gained and dieted too many times to count over the years. I have only been under 10% once because my goal up to this past year was more muscle gained.

I do know one thing, I don’t see many people my height bigger and leaner than this short of actual competitors in bodybuilding or athletes.

No one attacked you with “ad hominems”. You were asked what your experience level was to base all of the stuff you just wrote.

Why?

Because it clear to anyone with experience that you don’t have much.

Post a picture now.
Can you post a picture from a side without sucking up your stomach?

I guess youre not under 15 % body-fat.
SKELAC wrote:

Why? It shows I know how to get lean.

Wheres you picture at 10 % bf?
Showing old progress pics isn’t the worst thing in the world, but in this day and age it’s somewhat ridiculous to suggest that you couldn’t get a more recent pic (aka the RV defense). Cell phones make it stupid easy.

But really what it comes down to is that if you are seriously good at making physique improvements of ANY kind, you shouldn’t really be content showing pics from a year and a half ago as representative of your physique. That’s a lot of training/eating time to make changes.

If you honestly think your leanness or muscularity in those pics are impressive enough to hold up as credentials for how qualified you are to give advice… well, good for you. I’m not seeing anything well above average there, sorry.

And as for me- I’ve posted plenty of progress pictures and training videos on here. I have no idea what my BF% is in any of them, because I think fixating on a number like %BF is completely asinine and not very useful in building an impressive physique. I’m not claiming to be anything impressive anyway though, so w/e.

EDIT:

I could really give a fuck less about these little pissing matches, TBH. I was pointing out that it’s REALLY easy to get current progress pics, and I’m not sure why this had to become about whether or not I had pics of myself at X BF. If you haven’t already typed out some inflamed response, don’t bother. I don’t really care.

Dude, that pic is RELAXED. I’m not sucking anything in and there are tons of pictures in my log…more than enough to show how I look from all angles.

You posted pics of a guy I would see in the gym and think just started training. You should listen way more than you talk…but then, usually only the people who actually plan on standing out in a crowd would do that.

I seriously doubt anyone but a sedentary person would be shooting for your level of development as a goal.

Yep. Agreed completely.

Anyone shooting for some specific number of body fat instead of an overall look is missing some basics of physiology.

Also, according to this:

You are just hitting average weight for a SEDENTARY PERSON with a “large frame”.

Congrats for that achievement.

Guess what…you never needed to bulk up or do anything to be average.

It looks like you are the one with the skewed reality.

You aren’t built.

I mean, that chart says you are just 10lbs heavier than the average sedentary WOMAN of the same height.

Please…teach us.

So if you go on a sensible bulk but notice you are a bit softer too quick, you can subtract appropriate amounts of food and it will even out until you add more food again?

You have kind of wondered into the deep end of the pool with that question.

Prepare for SKELAC and X to have a pissing match over the advice they give you.

I’m trying to tap out of this thread because I think the original question was answered, but I wanted to chime in real quick.
SKELAC wrote:

If your picture “proves” you know how to get lean, then the dude pictured above should also be giving diet advice. You know, in his spare time, when he’s not running the free world.

Your lean pic shows a barely noticeable difference in development than his, so we might not want to over-rely on physique pictures to prove who knows what, because truth be told, that’s not going to turn out too well for you.

How about we rely on time spent training effectively, plus one’s actual education in health, nutrition, and exercise science.

I can’t believe I read into the second page before I looked up SKELAC’s pics

that would’ve ended things more quickly for me

That’s what I did, sometimes adding cardio if I felt too sluggish in the gym…or sometimes eating the same and simply increasing activity.

This is about trial and error.

One thing is for sure though…MOST of the people who act like “185lbs man” above won’t ever get much bigger. Those types usually turn to screaming steroids at everyone much bigger. This is then followed by some hallucinogenic reality where they convince themselves that skinny is built. This may include periods of comparing themselves to quadriplegics so they feel better about their “accomplishments”.

Then they log in here.

1.the older photo proves that I got lean.it doesnt matter how I look right now.

2.not everybody in the world owns a cell phone with a camera.I know it comes as a shock to some spoiled people.

Are we talking about natural muscle development or not?

Do you apply the same rating system for natural body builders as for body builders using steroids, insulin,GH,etc.?

Dude, Stu is way bigger than you.

No…we see what’s there.

You don’t. You think you look muscular. Yes, people look MORE muscular than you without even lifting on a regular basis. Go visit a basketball court.

I guess all the saturated fat you take in clogged your brain capillaries, coz you think lean natural 185 lb. is average.

Champions in natural body building are not bigger than 220 lb. at the same level of leaness, and we are talking champions.

We all know that the average weight has increased alot over the years. Especially women. If the average weight for a woman is 170lbs, does that mean that its not fat? Whether thats “normal” or not, that weight is fat for any woman.

Taking steroids or not is personal decision of every person. But downplaying results achieved without steroids by person juiced up to his gills is really just an inferiority complex.
