A 6’2" 165 lbs hockey player who lifts weights is going to find it very hard to get fat. Eat away.
Hmmm. Controversy aside, I have learned that a big bulking mistake is not using drugs to some capacity.
At least, post newb-gains.
Yep.

Eat as clean as possible.
that is a bulking mistake yes
Why?
Because your goal is to make sure your calories are where they need to be and that you are gaining mostly muscle…not on simply making sure you “eat clean” as possible.
In other words, this does not mean eat pure crap just to meet a caloric demand…but I will damn sure eat that double meat hamburger over skipping a meal because chicken and rice wasn’t available.
Most of the people worried about “eating clean” instead of “eating enough” won’t grow much.
Also, guys with really fast metabolisms may find it difficult to eat enough from what many regard as “clean”.
These labels don’t mean shit out of context. A “hamburger” is not “dirty”.
This is great advice I wish I had years ago. Being at a party with friends and being hungry while bulking means you SHOULD EAT some pizza or frozen hamburgers, etc. Otherwise you are just starving yourself under the guise of “Well, it’s junky so it won’t help me build muscle anyway”. It’s a bad excuse.
Here ya go: 18 months ago 173 pounds at 6’1" and 43 years young. Now: 203 pounds with the same 11% BF.
Here is how I got here: I shut up and listened to people like Prof X, Bonez, Wendler, Tate and Simmons and
others gracious enough to help me.
Do some of your own homework and then put together an intelligent question…
Not saying you did not only for those who may read this in the future…

I don’t dispute that, hence my rhetorical “why”. But, there’s nothing wrong in eating as clean AS POSSIBLE.

Eating as clean as possible isn’t a problem, but having that as your focus is.
When i saw this …i wasnt sure if i wanted to salivate or puke.

Reading too much into the “less is more training”.
Not having a level of training protocol and intensity to match your newfound eating habits.
Changing too much at once.
Purposely eating dirty to get calories in without the expertise to understand what it leads to.
Not understanding or simply ignoring fiber demands.
Looking at the scale rather than the mirror.
I learned all of these the hard way. Luckily I didn’t fail to recognize them before it went too far.
Take before photos. I wish I had
As long as your training hard and hitting your marcos, I don’t think there is such thing as a bulk up mistake; if excess fat has be put on, it can always be lost after.
