Bulk Fish Oil

so i wanna mega dose epa/dha i would gladly use Flameout, but at this point in my life (senior in college) i cannot afford it. where can i buy reliable (as in properly purified) fish oil in bulk for a good price?

I buy Vitamin World brand Omega 3’s. At each meal throughout the day, I have 1 Flameout + 2-3 vitamin world brands.

Don’t buy capsules if you want to go cheap. I just brought two bottles of Carlson’s fishoil for ~23 dollars each from Amazon I think. 17oz bottles. Not as good as Flameout and some people have trouble downing oil, but definitely much much cheaper and still of decent quality. Taste isn’t too bad either.

Disagree

If you do math it is still cheaper to buy capsules.

8.78 for 400 capsules each 180 epa 120 dha at discount club

13367.4 combined epa/dha per dollar

18.89 100 teaspon servings (16.8 ounces) 800 epa 500 dha
Carlsons on amazon

6881.9 combined epa/dha per dollar

Some people hate many large pills, and some hate liquid. Carlsons is of better quality than discount club. Discount club is of acceptable quality. I freeze the pills and can easily swallow about twelve with a large gulp of water with no fish burps.

Did not include sales tax or shipping. There is also some other omega 3 in liquid but most want epa/dha. Still a very good deal.

Many people buy Flameout and if they megadose also add liquid Carlsons or regular fish oil capsules.

Puritans Pride has good prices and often runs 3-for-1 sales. I usually take 3 Flameout a day and 15-20 pills of regular fish oil bought online from Puritans Pride.

Can someone esplain “discount club”? Is that an eTailer or some local retailer?

Was gonna buy “Health From The Sea PFO Pure Fish Oil” as it’s supposed to be orange flavored, but if there’s really a cheap capsule alternative I’d prefer it for several reasons… even if it’s taking 4 at a time…

TIA

sams club

‘discount clubs’ can be Sams clubs, BJ’s, Costco… usually warehouse facilities that focus on moving product in bulk. I get a lot of my basic groceries there (Oatmeal, Frozen Meat, Eggs, Cashews…)

mad props for this thread - joined myself to the local club today, got 2 bottles of FO caps. And gas for $3.02! (local rate averaging $3.19)

I went on my lunch hour so I didn’t have a long time to browse, but I did see 6# bags of EAS (whey?) protein powder for $28. Will have to investigate further. Given that I hope to start a new diet next week the bulk quantities are likely to come in very handy…

$8.78 for 400 softgels? Are you sure about that?

I got 300 softgels at costco for 13-15 bucks. And I thought that was cheap.

I have you all beat: Aldi has 120 softgels for $1.99. 180 epa, 120 dha per capsule.(might be poisonous crap, haven’t opened the bottle yet)

Is Flameout pure salmon oil? Is that why it’s so expensive? How did they get so much DHA in one capsule?
