Building up ???

Hey im new, and not sure if im posting in the right forum or not but am asking for some advice.

4 months ago i weighed 185 and was fairly strong for my size. I didnt lift or take anything I just work construction. I’ve always been able to hold my own, but i’ve lost a lot of weight. And now i have a man who has a good 70 or 80 pounds on me now causing problems around my house.

1 month ago i had surgery and lost 25 pounds. Lots of muscle and some fat but i’d have to say more muscle than anything. Im really weak.

Im tryin to stick to the OVT schedule i found on the site. I’ve charted my food and suppliment intake and for about 2 weeks i’ve been doing the following on a daily basis on average:

Protien: 308
Fat: 30
Sodium: 856
Carbs: 163

Optimum Whey Protien : 4 scoops a day
Tribex: 6 caps a day
M: 3 caps a day
Powerdrive 1 scoop a day

Now im not sure if i should be eating more, i definately want to gain some mass and build my strength back as fast as i can. Is there anything else i should take that would help me out? i was told to check MAD 250 but i dont know much about it.

could someone point me in the right direction? or should i just keep up on what im doing. If i should post somewhere else tell me please!
thanks
Jay

get as many carbs as protien. eat clean. Green veggies. more fat. EAT!

thats the response im getting most after talking to some people.

more fat in what though i dont want to eat junk. Should i start eating pasta everynight or something?

i’ve been sticking to salads, egg beaters, chicken and fish, not much else.
cut all alcohol out of my diet, all soda,
only drink skim milk and water

should i switch to whole milk?

Udo’s oil (my preference) / Flax Oil / Olive Oil / Walnuts / Almonds / too many to list.

As far as fat goes nuts are good (walnuts etc), that’s where i get most of mine anyway.

Read all the articles on nutrition on this site that you can, there’s plenty out there for ya. Just look through the archives.

Don’t worry about the specifics of your diet until you’re getting enough calories. Just eat more. You have plenty of protein but could use much more carbs and fats if you want to add size and strength.

Go to www.johnberardi.com and look for the massive eating calculator. That will tell you what you need for maintenance, then add what you see fit. Of course make sure you have plenty of carbs and protein during the six hours post-workout and a good recovery drink like Surge or something close. Focus less on supplements and more on food.
