Builder's Competition Quest

On your right side tricep, your rear leg is more forward than your front leg. The rear leg needs to trail behind the front leg and mash into the hamstring.

Notice how much better your quad looks (more detail) and bigger your hamstring looks on the left side tricep with your rear leg in much better placement.

I disagree with Grind regarding the double bicep being perfect, if you look at where you tricep and biceps attachments end, there is a portion of your upper arm that is small in circumference and shows readily with your current pose. Bringing the forearm more towards your head will help eliminate this.

I hope I don’t come off as negative, great work thus far and looking forward to your continued progress.[/quote]

Thanks for the tip, I didnt read this til after my posing so I will have to incorporate it for next time. Should my elbows be in the same position or should I raise them as well?

Elbows a bit higher and hands closer to head. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually find it easier to flare my lats a bit more when raising my elbows as well.

Update:

Woke up this morning weighing in at 174.4 lbs. After having things slow down for a bit this was a breath of fresh air. I just started to add 20 min of cardio to the end of all my training sessions so I don’t have to adjust my diet too drastically before the final weeks leading to the show. I have also just recently spaced my meals from 2 to 3 hours apart (Did 2.5 for a week, then transitioned to 3).

Today was leg day so I added in some carbs and lowered protein a bit to stay within the caloric confines for the day. I am finally starting to lose some ass fat and hamstrings are becoming more visible. My legs were looking very vascular after my leg workout which was exciting.

I am still working on posing and have made a few adjustments based on tips provided from you kind T-Nation folk.

Still learning and still motivated!!

Nice progress. I think on your front & back double bicep shots you should bring close the elbow angle. You appear “spaced out/large gaps” with your hands so high up. Tighten it up and lets see what it looks like.

Thanks, I am hoping to get some more shots up tomorrow after my training session. I will try to include a few variations to see what one works best.

Sorry for the delay, Finally got a chance to upload a few more pics. I have been busy getting lean!

more

and lastly…

Update:

Morning weight was 174.2 this morning and it is definitely coming off slower. I have really buckled down in tracking my macros and to be honest I was kind of willy-nilly about it before. Actually knowing and allotting for meals has made things so much easier. I have about 4 weeks of work left for conditioning and then I am in my “Shredded in 6 days” mode. I have added cardio to the end of each workout and when time permits in the morning. I have had a couple successful runs through my posing routine (show routine) and am still coming along with the compulsory poses.

I have included a few variations of my front double bi from this morning, un-pumped, for critique and all input is welcome.

good work man

ill leave the posing comments to the more experienced bbers from here on in

i will say that you gotta keep fighting for better conditioning–probably need to be sub 170 to be very ripped on stage

Couple more pics from after my workout today.

and…

last but not least. I think I might stick to keeping my legs even while throwing up my front double bi. Not sure the pros and cons of each way, but I think I look more symmetrical here.

You look huge for your weight, man. For the mass you’ve attained, you also look quite balanced; no real glaring weak spots. I think that if you are able to dry out and nail your posing, you’ll do quite well. I’ve never competed myself so I don’t have any tips from personal experience, unfortunately. Best of luck.

woke @ 173.2 this morning. tracking my macros more closely has made all the difference in my weight. Hopefully this on top of the cardio I have started in the morning and after each session will make the difference. Only 5 weeks until the show so no time for error at this point. Always appreciate your input brother.

Appreciate the support! 5 weeks to suck it in on the conditioning, it is going to be interesting to see how close I can get coming down to the wire.

good thread this. I’m particularly interested to see how the shredded in 6 days thing works out for you. I’ve always wanted to try it.

Fingers crossed! It will be my first time trying it.

Looking great in the recent pictures, clearly getting leaner and the posing is better.

In 5 weeks, you should be very happy with what you are presenting on stage.

Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. Peaking is definitely going to be interesting.
