Builder's Competition Quest

Excellent work!

You look fantastic! You said you placed in the top 5 so you are going on to the Nationals, yes? Or did I misunderstand?

When is your next prep thread starting

Jealous of that crab pose…looking great! Nice work.

Enjoy the rebound ride!

Unbelievable transformation man, congrats!

Update:

So I am up almost 7 lbs post contest, I am doing my best to keep training and macros in check. I do not want to blow up though it is hard to stay away from the ice cream! I had the opportunity to have a bit of fun with my conditioning post contest and my beautiful versatile wife agreed to help me with a photo shoot. I am happy with the shots and will attach one.

The official results were posted today online from the contest. It turns out i placed 4th, which as far as I knew the day of I was just top 5. Only one off from a placing so I am even more excited with what I can bring to the table next year.

Since top 5 qualify for nationals I am eligible to attend, however not getting a placement in this show has steered my focus towards applying the extra time to training for the next show. There is a 3 month window until nationals and I feel like time could be better spent putting on some of the LBM I have burned off so far in this journey. I am open to input on the subject and my decision is not set in stone either way, but it is not cheap and I kinda went all out on this prep.

My goal for the summer is to maintain a lower BF% while adding a bit of size back on. I am now accustomed to tracking my intake of calories so the OCD side of me wont let that go anytime soon. Plus if i do make the decision to compete my prep wont be too hard.

Thank you all again, I appreciate the feedback and continued support!

Sounds like a solid and well thought out plan. After my first contest, people were telling me to do this show, or that show, but I knew that I needed to improve, and taking a year off, with laser like focus and well planned out nutritional and training strategies made a huge difference!

Looking forward to seeing monster improvements from you next year brother! Congrats again, you looked great!
