Haha I actually just watched Blood and Guts for the first time this week. His spotter is hilarious. “BUSINESS AS USUAL!!”

Nice curl poundages!

Looks like a pretty great workout man. Do you feel like your pressing/tricep strength strength will suffer at all from all extensions and no heavy press (CGBP or Floor Press)?

Uhm… no not really. I go through phases where I throw in tricep presses, and phases where I don’t. I’ll likely start throwing them back in at some point in the next few weeks, but I find with regular chest and delt pressing, you won’t lose too much off close grip variations. Might take a few weeks to get back to where you were, but I’m past carrying about getting a PR every week, especially in my low calorie state.

Hmm ok. Didn’t mean that as a criticism or anything, I was just genuinely curious. Thanks for the response. Can’t wait to see you get back on a calorific surplus and kill it.

This last exercise was something he suggested to me: go to the assisted dip machine, put the foot-thingy down, and do like one-armed pressdowns. was AWESOME. took a couple sets to get body position right, but I loved loved loved it.
I think I did 4 sets of 12, 10, 10, and 10 reps, working up to the stack. Awesome.

Check out some Westsiders doing them @4:10 in this video

I haven’t tried them one-armed yet, but two hands with or without a med ball are fuckin swolegasmic. When I set up for them I like to have my feet back a few steps and then lean over the pad and grab on…the eccentric part of the lift stretches your tri’s so much that it feels like they’re about to tear haha.

How goes the training man? Still working out with that new guy (it’s AC isn’t it?!?! haha)

Thanks for the link Ty. Will keep that in mind.

So I’m at the beach. Been a relaxing trip. Eating relatively poorly, lol. Will post some pics when I get home. I got in some chest and tris yesterday and this tiny local gym. Vacation workouts are never the best in my experience, lol.

Bench press
135 x 15
185 x 15
225 x 12
245 x 10

Incline smith
135 x 15
185 x 10
225 x 10

Incline machine press
some sets

Cable crossovers/flies/w/e
6 sets (2 sets cables high, 2 med, 2 low), high reps, TEH PUMPZ.

Overhead rope extensions
4 high rep sets, then switched to V-handle and banged out the stack

CGBP /ss/ incline DB skulls
135 x 12 / 20s x 15
185 x 10 / 20s x 15
225 x 10 / 20s x 15

Finished with some nice v-grip pressdowns.

Gonna go in for some back tomorrow. Dunno really what I’ll be able to do given their equipment and that my lower back still hates me, but Ill figure something out.

Hmm you posted literally a minute after my bump.

Your “not a great day” top set of bench is my 1RM for 10 fml.

Close Grip after Flat and incline smith? Ouch. lol.

Edit: Enjoy the vaca. Bet everyone on the beach is 'mirin lean Bug.

hahaha thanks for the interest, blaze.

In due time you’ll be there. imagine how it’d feel if suddenly 155 x 10 was hard for you after the time you’ve put in… pretty frustrating, no? It’s kind of baffling as to what are the exact causes for such an extreme drop in strength. Despite having lost close to 40lbs, the strength drop shouldn’t be so dramatic. Oh well, all I can do at this point is get it back up. I hope by the end of August I’m back up to comfortable levels (lets say flat bench 315 x 8-10, incline 275 x 6-8, close grip 295 x 6-8. I’d be happy with that.)

I JUST WANT SOME NEW PRs FFS.

The other day I was bored, and when I’m bored I like to troll on T Nation like so many of us do! Anyway, for shits and gigz, I looked at your profile and found your 1st post. Hilarious. You were like 180 and wanted advice on cutting to get the abz. It reminded me of someone I know (lol). Anyway, great work, keep it up. Where are you vacationing?

I was at Port Aransas, Texas.

Got in some back and bis yesterday. Flirted a little with the cutie at the front and she didn’t make me pay to work out. Winning. Took me probably 45 minutes to “get into the workout”. Despite taking 750mg of caffeine before, I just felt soooo sluggish from the eating, sleeping on the beach, sun, etc. I know I know, tough life. I’ll post up a pic in a sec.

Just got in, have no energy to do legs, so will probably just get skipped this week. My lower back could use the break. Tough to go 100% on any big exercise with an effed lower back.

Bug, Papa Bug, Little Bug

It’s pretty obvious I am destined to be hyoooooje.

Ah yeah, the pre-workout front desk cutie flirtin…she was def mirin wasnt she bug!

you should open your eyes next time you take a picture

lol

When I put this photo into Windows Media Player I get the audio that precedes this photo:

Woman behind the camera (I’m assuming Mama Bug): “Everyone take off their sunglasses so I can see your faces…I guess listening to your mother stops once you’ve begun ‘juicing teh roidz’!”

Lolz. Im the smart one for leaving them on and not looking like a ree-ree.

Hittin some shoulders in a few hours. I feel fat, lol.

Skipped the gym to take a much needed nap. Tomorrow with be a long ass day (prob hour 45 of lifting) of delts/traps/arms. amazin

I don’t know what it is, but I guess being extra sedentary at the beach, and not doing anything physical the couple days I’ve been back make me feel extra tired, lol. Took me a good 35-40 minutes to “get into” my workout today, which was expected. When I walked in the gym, I felt I looked soft/smooth and small. terrible feeling. joints were stiff, blah blah cheese with the wine. Really got into it by the end though, and was pleasantly surprised by my performance on the close-grip bench (fuck you holymac).

bugs,

So you did the assisted dip thing for tris (1 -arm pressdown)? Or you leaned in so sternum was over the line of motion to try to target the chest? (what maraudermeat suggests)

Savage workouts, bud.

Dude, you should give Men’s Physique a serious shot. The board shorts made me realize that that is where you belong.
