Was 205 this morning, waist like 32.75". Still not the abs I was hoping I’d have at this point but whatever, it’ll come. Got an hour of pool time before the workout, so my tan is lookin extra chrispyy.

Seated DB shoulder press

DB laterals - good form, assholes. ![]()

60s x 10 and some partials
DB partial laterals
85s x 25, 25 DROP 40s x 10ish DROP 15s x burnout w/ squeezes
Lateral machine
80 x 12
100 x 10, 10 DROP 60 x burnout
A set of cables to finish lateral delts. Pop plz. Then kinda got crazy with the rear delt work cuz I was having fun with it.
Rear delt flies
25s x a bunch
30s x a bunch
40s x 12 drop 30s x 10 DROP 20s x 10 DROP 10s x 20-30 idk.
Incline rear delt flies
15s x idk, 20-30
40s x 15, then sat down on a flat bench and did DB presses to burnout. Got prob 30-40 reps.
Pooped. Drenched in sweat.
But, you do a lot of delt laterals. Have you always done high volume laterals, or is this new? Also, do you do front delts? Looking great BTW!
I dunno. I wouldn’t really call it high volume, but it is more work than I would have done, say, a year ago. Laterals don’t really impact recovery in my experience (where lots of pressing definitely DOES), and delts can handle lots of volume and rarely get sore. I just try to change it up. This has been a fun workout and I get a good pump and I feel my delts are thoroughly thrashed after.

I have weigh(t)ed 237 (morning weight) at my heaviest. Didn’t hold that for very long sadly. I’ve seen 240 after a big-ass meal (once).
235 is the heaviest I’ve held onto for awhile though.

Looking big and cut man. Lots of definition, esp in chest. I hope I can look somewhat like that in a couple years.
Sadly, I have no secrets. I think it’s just the way my chest is attached/built that I get most stimulation and growth in that region. I have also emphasized incline over flat for most of my training career.

Bug, and anybody else. I’ve noticed something lately - that the guys who look like the lift weights (lol) have all been soft/fat/big at one time or another. I’ve also heard it said that doing a lower carb diet for lean gains and all that works well AFTER you’ve put on the pudge and built your frame. Do you think this is the case?
I want to get bigger, but I’m afraid of getting fat (same ole story, boo hoo)…But, it seems like getting a bit soft is a prerequisite to the look that you Bug, Way, ebomb, and countless others have achieved. Any advice? I want to put on the size, but it’s not possible without the fat, at least at first.?

Great work there. I’m surprised you’re even trying to get leaner since you already look ripped in that picture. I’m curious to see what your final goal looks like when you’re done. It’s going to be a great example of how to do a cut the right way.
