Bug: Killin It

I like your back workouts, would you recommend doing rows and deadlifts? Idk if I should do them, I might hurt my lower back. What do you think?

Do you feel the meadows rows are stressful on your lower back? I don’t, esp. since I’m bracing my non-working hand on my leg. If anything, it helps warm up my whole body and lose the stiffness I’d normally feel when starting with DLs.

Something more LB-intensive, such as barbell rows, though might not be as great of an idea (although I’ve done it).

Exactly - as long as you are bracing with that other arm Ebomb, you shouldn’t feel much lower back stress…just a tad…but def not enough to where you would avoid deads…I agree that regular barbell rows might change my answer on that…

Nice deadlifts for them being “light”, since that’s pretty much my max right now lol. It’s good to have some of the stronger guys of the forum logging. Not many do and it’s good motivation for the rest of us, thanks man. Keep it up!

Rope pressdowns
4 sets, god I love the way these feel.

Tri extension machine (actually felt really nice. slow neg, forceful squeeze)

Incline skulls (tris were raped at this point. slow slow slow negative and paused at bottom)
80lbs x 10, 10, 10, last set dropped to 20lbs DB’s for some more reps.

Tris were so effin pumped.

I think I’m at the point in my diet where I will make rapid visual changes week to week. Super pumped about this. Around 225 this morning. 3 weeks till spring break with Waylander, HM, DohCrazy, etc. Gonna be nutso.

Pretty sweet leg day. Training partner is out all week, but I brought the intensity. Changed some things around to deal with some things (wasn’t really feeling like doing SLDLs, for example, and decided to finish with front squats instead of hacks since I know I cant really push myself to total failure without a partner).

Warmed up with sumo deads. These warm me up really well. And I’ve been doing them a lot because I’m helping train 2 girls my mom, and in their programs I’m having all of them do sumos. Good lift.

Standing calf raises (super slow neg, pause at bottom, hard squeeze at top)

Lying leg curls (meadows style)
50 and 70 for 20 reps each as warmups. Also, lowered the volume a tad today.

50lbs x 8, 8, 8 per leg (2sec negative on each, hard contraction)

Leg press (3 sec negative, no lockout)

9pps x 10… stood up… then decided to do a drop set lol: 7pps x 8-9 drop 5pps x a bunch, feet together, 3pps x omg death.

Had to sit down for a minute.

Front squats (idk lol, why the fuck not. All sets were TUT-style till the last one)

315 x 5 I was happy since I havent done front squats in prob 5 months or so.

Did 1 set leg extensions but I couldn’t even move 100lbs so I walked home.
