Brute's Book

That sounds cool - I was really into mythological monsters as a kid. My dad used to tell me all the Greek myths and such.

Has your reaction died down. I got into perfume a few years back and would swap samples with other perfumistas via a message board (basenotes.net). One lady had her own little artisan perfume company and sent me a bunch of samples. After a week of trying a different one each day I came out in a mega rash. I spray on my forearms and down my chest so I had these HUGE rashy areas and didn’t know what to do with myself. I ended up having to get prescription-strength steroid cream from the doctor. I’ve never had a problem before or since so it must’ve been something specific to her perfume. Having said that, it was also the year my immune system went down the crapper so I reckon that had a bit to do with it.

HA!! Kristof! it could be worse and be a clam …or a camel, or even worse a moose. i want to make sure it’s noted that it is NOT a squid. o_0

I fondly proclaim “Its The Octopussy!!” :)!!! all crudeness and fun aside, it was a mere coincidence in its placement. I got a fix for the painting of it and it worked out to fit in a spot that needed filling in! and also a handy pun…and a staunch warning.

BEWARE THE KRAKEN!

thanks N! i am very pleased! i will post pictures when it s more complete

hey cal–oh gosh…skin things are the WORST. so painful! freaking rashes! ouchie! so much fucking sensation!

My reactions getting there…but hot damm it hurts. Its in a bad spot that gets stretched a lot doing daily movements. its getting there…but not fast enough :{ its oozed so much the first week, then pulling off the embedded fabric of my undies or pants would rip it afresh. damm red!

sorry for all you went through but things seem to be turning around now!!

I had the same reaction to yellow…eww

in a strange phase of protein consumption…as in I can’t stomach it! Like Our Nadia, I’m having trouble getting anything down my gullet that’s protein rich. and no whey to protein shakes.

This is very strange for me! I’m historically a meat eater. yet the thought of chicken --which i’ll probably never eat again–, beef or any meat really except lamb and turkey seriously makes me gag. No real reason except for the chicken which over the last two years I’ve personally culled the population significantly with all the George Foremen grilled breasts I’ve consumed.

I’ve been living on lo carb torillas, broccoli, cauliflower, salsa, and spagetti squashing it for a good solid month plus. so i think that might be part of why i’m low on muscle magic. but i’m not about to make myself nauseous for the sake of protein …i love to eat too much!

I can’t wait for turkeys to go on sale. then it’ll be back to meat eating Brute. last year between November and December i made 7 baked turkeys–and loved every one of them. mmmm!!! my house smelled wonderful for weeks!

Nuts?

oh boy PMPM i can kill some nuts! however those nuts lead to problems…i love them far too much. freaking peanuts, cashews. macadamias, pistachios…wonderful!

lol WOW!! I am trying to think of some creative ideas for food, but your current diet sounds pretty delish even sans protein

eh…i’m getting nauseated over that too :{ mmm…

today was a mini day again since my mp3 player i got less then 4 months ago is shutting down on me…it might be my ancient computer won’t charge it

Brute: Sometimes you just need to detox. HOpe your tummy feels better soon. fish and eggs are working for me now–i hope reading that doesn’t turn your stomach.

Its funny about the meat-eating. I went through that too at the begging of the summer. They body wants what it wants! What can you do? Anyways, I felt great when I went veg, and then I slowly started craving more proteins. I really think that meat is just a hard substance to digest! (at least for me) I think you should just roll with it for now, maybe you should just amble through the grocery store and see what calls to you? Can you eat yogurt and cheese? I lived off goat cheese and greek yogurt when I was meat-less.

And since its fall, you have a nice bounty of veg and fruit to choose from:

I love Wacky Wednesday! That’s a nice little sesh there, missy. Great work!

oooh la la!!! thank you maschy! lovely veggie time indeed!!

Yep, I’ve had enough and got some eggs today. I’m not doing cheese or dairy anymore again. I figured out i had an allergy or something last year and held off it and if was fine. started eating it for a while, but now i’m off it again. no more dairy.

pretty much just keepin it greasy with today’s jaunt
dl’s 225x ten
over head sq 95 for ten
benching 115x5
tricep overhead ext sets of 8 and ten with a lil dinky wt
some other piddly things. but hey

i’ve lost some wt but its not a nice loss. I’m not as hard as i used to be and my goodness my hips have been sore :{ I think its because I’ve dropped my various squatting training a lot. those overheads always seem to help pull apart and loosen my hips out. Also my back is not exactly painful but i think it’s underused and stiff from not having a job!!

I can offer myself this explation: i’m outta shape! bleh!
Or this one: I’ve calmed down quite a bit in my entire life. the vast majority of my training is therapy for me

release of whatever i’ve got brewing. it can be destroyed and slammed to a hault when i’m down and depressed, or seized when i’m happily content or distracted, or intensified when i’m confident and pleased with myself. Way emotionally linked for better or worse!

but i’m not retired yet, so ebbs and flows

I find my moods are very tied to my training as well. Or is it the other way around? Sometimes I’m just not sure.

Did you say you’re out of work? How did I miss that?

Lack of protein is likely what is causing the squish and the less than Brutastic performance. How about eggs? They’re easy on the stomach and not meaty, plus one of the best sources of protein there is. And maybe add some bacon. No one can resist bacon.

hey Snap-- I’m still working! And happily learning more skills on my new shift. I’m working on getting an ER specialty certification as a vet tech. It takes a year of doing case studies and perfecting certain skills. Hardest one for me is central line placement! I tried my first one --on a dead dog- Friday and it wasn’t so bad.

But what i meant about being unemployed was about my back. Its been underemployed since I’ve laid off the crazy for awhile now. stiff, rusty and waiting for a challenge!

I could be more of a productive person and stretch constantly. i hate stretching… especially in the am when i’m stiff like a corpse:{ walking helps loosen me up but man alive i’m an old codger in the morning!

hey cal! i hope you are right. and as of today I’m going to have a protein shake before work, 3 scoops! Can’t hurt… plus i have three unfinished tubs hanging around.

Are you going to go watch the push/pull at all next weekend? A last-minute hockey game cancellation may mean I can watch some before my daughter’s gymnastics meet.
