My Nikki yeah, talk about culture shock. From growing up in socal, Long Beach California and down south in dallas whee pitties are the favorite pups, Denver’s whacked out. Surprising too since its such a dog loving city in general. but I have a umm…Mastiff!!

last few nights at work have been nightmares. summer’s here so that means everyone’s dog gets sick, injured, etc. parvo puppies galore. foreign bodies, toxicities, seizures, blah blah blah…basically the weathers good and people spent more time with their dogs and notice shit that’s been going bad and is now totally fucked up. its like the weekend only three months long. Out having fun dogs run into the street and get hit by a car…or .etc…etc.

anyways, I didn’t get out of work until quite late this morning so i didn’t workout with the strongman peep at the cool gym down the street. I did get to see PMPM though briefly :slight_smile:

about a 2 mile walk with nigel.

i was beat, tried ot nap but no go. so i grabbed a monster and went to the gym.

um… one thing you could do is drop your neighbors a note. attach a cute pic of him, even. explain that you are concerned about possible barking etc and if they have a problem could they let you know. only trouble is that relies on your neighbors not being idiots / wanting to create trouble for no good reason. maybe not… people can be weirdos…

Oh man. Another awful night at work sunday night rushed off my feet for ten hours. Left exhausted, walked my pup for a few miles and came home. Went to the gym and tried a few sets of oh sq only to realize it wasa bad idea. So I napped and tried again at about 5 and it was still a fight the entire time

Front sq bar, 95, 155x16,x9,x9,x8,x7
Tried some regular sq bar, 155, 205,255,275,295, 300 high-ish, 300 fail
Oh sq bar, 95x15,115x10,125 x6 then no go.

Was totally bombed out from work. ah well.

today benching was a disaster. everything was a thousand pounds.so i cut it short.
115x10, 124x4,135, 120x7, 130x2, 135 awful wonky sideways lifts for most of them. gross
bent over rows 95x10,105x10, 95x10x3 sets, 115x8,125,135x3, 145 crazy assed one.

The diet is ON. I’m feeling gross. So I’m entering it here to spread the word and keep some sort of record. I’m starting out with just no to low carb again. I’ve been off track for a while, and I need to not be. I’ll have a cow paddy-meat mouth again, but bouncing belly says its time.

My nipples were hard because I am clumsy as all hell.

Saturday morning I took hubby to Cherry Creek Reservoir to put the boat in. We drove around a bit - he’s working on getting me more comfortable handling the boat - and then around 8:20 he drove up to the dock so I could hop out and head over to the gym for strongman.

The dock at Cherry Creek is floating, so it can be a little rough in rough water, and moves when you move. Hubby nosed the boat up to the dock, and I stood on the bow so I could step off and then he could back away and go about his fishing.

Well, I stepped/hopped off, misjudged the distance to the dock, hit it kind of hard. It dipped, then I just kind of cartwheeled off the other side. I somehow managed to keep my head above water, but I took a nice dip, fully clothed, in 55 degree water. I was wearing flip flops, yoga pants, underwear, sports bra, tank top, t-shirt, fleece, and sunglasses.

I changed into a running skirt I had in the car, and my chucks, but spent the strongman morning in a very damp tank top and bra. Hence the nipples.

I ended up with some really sexy bruises.

Glad I was able to amuse. :wink:

I told this story to my family last night at Memorial Day dinner. My mom got this look of “Shit, I had forgotten” and said, “Oh, that reminds me of when I was trying to decide whether to put you in kindergarten or hold you back. They tested you and said you were smart enough, but that you were really clumsy for your age…”

It was good seeing you, Brute. And Nigel is GORGEOUS! Y’all, his head is about eight feet wide. Just a massive puppy.

The strongman women all said I need to hound you to come back since you’re so fiercely strong!

Work days like the ones you describe are exactly why I don’t try to any serious business in the gym during the weekend or the day after the weekend (when I work, not because I’m partying hard). But! Fierce creature that you are, you still got some respectable benching and impressivly high reps on DL with 225.

Nigel seems like he’d be a quiet type. Well, as far as barking goes at least. :stuck_out_tongue: I bet you two are quite the sight taking your walks. :slight_smile:

I sincerely hope you get some more regular time in with the strongman women. As much progress as you’ve made on your own and as scrong as you are I think a group like that would be just the thing to make you even more badass. Probably be fun too. grin

hey Kristof!! yeah…it WAS alot of fun for the small amt of time i trained with the strongman ladies:) the meet is next Saturday, so I’ll be popping by to cheer on everyone for as long as I can stay.

OH but it hurt!!! the farmer’s walk apparatus hurts!! I still have a sore cervical vertebrae from it my god! I really wish i had learned how to get those stones though…they just look bad ass no matter how much the weight,

Farmers walks do hurt! I haven’t had the chance to do them in a long time because I’m not at a gym with fun stuff like that anymore but the last time I did them I misloaded them and went a lot heavier than usual and ended up with sore everything. My neck and traps had never been so sore before.

And you’re nuts for doing all that stuff in the gym after those crazy nights at work.

You’re talking about the yoke, my nemesis - not the farmers walk. Those are the handles you hold, we did em with 150/hand on Saturday. Funny, my grip didn’t slip at all, but the last 10 feet were very very wobbly.

in other news I’ve been secretly self challenged to a pushup war. Actually an old flame asked me how many i could do at once. So I tried and got sixteen. He laughed and said I should be able to do 50.

so 51 it is!! I’m going to try and add one rep a day. I haven’t done them seriously in years, now i never do them so i should be ashamed…might be a lofty goal but i don’t know. seems challengingly feasible. says the girl who only did sixteen. BUT I am pretty serious when it comes to doing things out of pure SPITE and being able to rub it in a face…although quietly and as nonchalantly as my etiquette allows.

yeah, you will get those push-ups. there is a 100 push-up program if you get stuck, but try it your way first, cause i think that would take longer.
