Yesterday I got to meet up with PMPM at the Strongman Gym down the street to play with the equipment for the comp at Parker Days.

I stayed for the set up of the axle press and the farmers walk–and i didn’t do a lot but MAN i got sore! Mostly my neck from figuring out the farmers walk thing! I got a lil bruiseing on my shoulders too. PMPM tore it up on that, I barely moved it 60 yards!

That shit is no joke! Its hard! After i got home i tried to nap and had strange waking dreams and a bunch of stiff muscles! Next week I hope to go again and try the stones :slight_smile:

OH BOY. Well, Nigel’s 3rd time being home alone wasn’t so hot today. Of course the ONE thing i forget to put up is what he gets into. A bag of library books with dvds…shit! Now two different counties are going to be pissed at me …ah hell. I figured he’d be a little bit antsy today, lots of action around my apt complex on Sundays.

oh my god, i thought i had it on film as well but camera crapped out. I would have posted it for sure! I wihs i had it because i’d be laughing for days!!!

I pushed it up and the barbell flew over my head, behind me and onto one of those weird deadlift rack things-- me holding on to it the whole time!!! i think!!? I 'm not sure :smiley: but I managed to have my hands on it when it clonked the rack behind me. For Fuck’s Sake !!

its been a LONG time since i’ve had that massive of a gym FAIL! I blame it on me having to use the regular squat rack instead of my usual overhead sq area …yeah :slight_smile:

Critters do seem to know the best things to get into don’t they? Shorty (cat) has managed to both undo the power to my modem and loosen the hoses to my washing machine with his bumping and snuffling around. As for Nigel, seems like you got off light if he was antsy and that’s all he did. That’s a huge dog is my point. :slight_smile:

I remember when I was doing box squats and the weight flung me backwards. Luckily it was in a power rack. But it was a loud crash. Oh well.

Kristof- Nigel’s farts are getting EPIC and I don’t hope for much improvement:) He had serious worms when he came to my work and barfed up large live ones with masses of clotted blood. I’ve been deworming him this week, and no more vomiting but still the toots. I can actually hear him fart like a person–total pffffttth. :smiley:

The 145 bench was a fail–an fail so bad i lowered it to my chest and it never left1 i had to roll it over my boobies and onto my belly so I can get up. GOTTA LOVE THAT. Were having no real cleavage is an advantage for safety :slight_smile:

SNAP! YES!! And I am going to capitalize on that saturday if I can. I didn’t get to it last week, but I’m going to for sure see if i can get PMPM to spot me a few tries on my bench!! You should come too to the strongman gym–I’m totally at a loss there…the equipment is not easy at all! But still fun :slight_smile:

One thing I need to work on is my dl max. I tend to want to get my reps in then consider my max later. its hard! I’m one of those rep chicks who …chases the numbers instead of the strenght.I have to check my squat too.

This meet is going to be totally relaxed for me. as relaxed as I can be. Going to hope for new PR’s but not expect them. I’m just happy my back’s better :slight_smile: and i want to torture myself , so why not a meet? :)!!

Yesterday I didn?t really know what?d I do. I was scared again of leaving for too long with Nigel. I set up a tape recorder to record while I was gone to see if there was any barking happening. I?ve been listening to it now for about 30 min, and no excessive barking J hurray J He gets a bone for that.

Also my timing is all confused. Usually on my days off I wake up and gym it pretty much straight away, but with Nigel and not knowing how he is while I?m gone I don?t want to risk him barking up a storm at one in the morning while I party at the gym. SO now its wake up, hangout with him for a while–like 3 hours, then walk about 3 miles once the sun it sorta up, then wait until about 7 or 8 to leave for the gym. So I?m warmed up, but also not the freshest come gym time. I?ll figure it out As long as he?s not barking up a storm, I will gladly wait . I know how it is trying to sleep and everyone?s fucking loud and leaf blowers etc because that?s my EVERYDAY all the time problem… But I?m the minority and that?s just how it is.

…and also–I don?t want to be that douche bag. I want absolutely no problem with my neighbors about Nigel . Nigel?s a mastiff–but could be easily mistaken as a mix. Here in Denver he could be mistaken for a bull breed mix which in most places is illegal for ridiculously stupid reasons. A lot of apartment complexes don?t except them, and for the most part the city of Denver has them outlawed.

There are so many stupid rules and shit that if you do have one, and live in an area where they are permitted, you have to follow. Like have a $100,000 insurance policy for them, register them which is couple hundred bucks a year I think, have at least a 6 foot fenced yard for them, etc. Just fucking stupid when I see FAR more dog bites against humans from Chihuahuas, labs, Sheppards, aussies, freaking rat terriers etc. The thing is when my big boy bites, which he?s totally docile and wouldn?t unless provoked, he?d do more damage. Lame. BUT anyways that?s why I want absolutely no problem with my neighbors for him.

Aww Nigel is so lucky to have you. I thinking the banning of pits is stupid as well. They’re getting punished and stereotyped because of what cruel humans make them do i.e dog fights.

It’s frustrating. I hope you figure out a solid plan as to how to spend time with Nigel and lift and everything.
