I was just asking about the NASA meets. are you doing one? is there one in town sooner then the July USAPL one?? I’m bored and itching for something cool to plan.

May 21. It’s a push/pull/strict curl (optional). No squats. I have no interest in a meet with no squats. But a meet with no bench? Now you’re talking! If you want to do it, I can help you. The rules are a wee bit different than USAPL. Lemme know. There are two other NASA meets this year, but both are very close to USAPL meet dates.

The only reason I want to do a NASA meet is because I want to try squatting out of a monolift. But that would require training that way, which I can’t do since I have no access to one.

I just read up on the monolift. I take it the benefit is not having to walk out your squats?

oh boy…just checked out the NASA “strict curling” on the internet.com. Strange…and not for me. i’ve never done it , but i doubt i could be much more then the freakin bar.

Bear, I was just thinking about you your wanting to do a one-arm pullup the other day and wondering what would happened if I tried it again. =D Last time I think I hurt something :expressionless: And now I weigh more.

hmm. i’ve only done curls once when i did a gym circuit class because my back was hurt and i couldn’t think of much else to do. the guy handed me the 5kg’s and they were pretty easy and that was about a year ago… no idea what i could do on those. i bet you could do more than 20kg… but i don’t suppose i really know…

Interesting about the strict curls in the comp. Maybe some of the squat rack curlers are training for that event. LOL. Not!

Well, NASA calls it “strict curl.” But I’ve seen the comp and there’s a lot of back sway going on. That, in my book, would not constitute “strict.”

on another note I am Giant Brute again. I write this but I do feel fairly ok with it. Fairly. Some definite pudge on my belly but other then that I feel good about my size. I just have to be mindful. I don’t really care what wt classes i get into but it’d be nice to be at 165 coem the next meet irregardless of the new classes. today after a few sodas i sat at 172.

If i do start to feel shitty about my size I’ll just start counting freaking exact calories…I don’t want to shred up my muscles again with cardio because i have a problem when i do it, and I do end up picking it over wts because I’m a crack head like that. HITT I could do.

Maybe I just am better a higher wt class. I’d really love a 2x bw squat–that’ll be a while. 2x bw dl I have had/might need to go up on now since I’m bigger. Bench…oh …you bastard…I’d be really excited with a 150 one. we’ll see.
