I love your vids Brutiful!

I envy all of you ladies with awesome arches, I can’t do that for some reason.
Remember I used to bench with wide grip… didn’t work too well. Austin talked some sense into me and I used a more narrow grip, and that’s how I kept it. I’m sure there’s some physics reason as to why it’s harder to bench wide since the bar has less distance to travel.
I’m hungry and I’m babbling, ignore me.

I hate your squats. 275 is not a meh to me, it’s “Yippee! Omg, did you see that? Stranger, did you see that?!?!?”

Hey Kristof! i sometimes do cardio first to warm up and loosen up. Its getting better, but I still wake up rather stiff and clenched especially if i worked out the day before.

My cardio is nothing crazy either. elipitcal to get a decent sweat–but nothing out of control that would make me too fatigued.

and the fantastically lame benches at my gym- 24 hour fitness-- are only either nearly too high or way way too low for height:{ i guess i could set it up in the squat rack, but i’d feel like a douche monopolizing it… because i get pissed when others do the same :stuck_out_tongue:

The Golds’ that I sometimes train at has crappy benches that cause me to have the same problem. Solution: I never bench there!

With your wacky schedule there should be times that you could monopolize the squat rack without putting anyone out. Just sayin’.

I’m puzzled about you at 5’8" are having problems with the bench rack height. I know that the big Body Master’s ones are not made for people like me with the t-rex arms but I wouldn’t think you’d have trouble. Love the stripes Brute. I’m sure I could use some coaching on my bench, along with everything else I do! Ha ha. That’s one of the things I love about this is there’s so much to learn. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.

hey veg! yeah, you are right,there are times i could squeeze it in. I’m used to the benches as they are anyways --crap and all. :stuck_out_tongue:

hey Puff! yep, in a perfect world i’d have the rack a titch lower. I think the lift off is fine because i tend to spread my arms outward after i get it in my hands, so i end up pretty wide and therefore i’ve got less monkey arm going. but i’m kinda used to it i guess :{

and word! there is soooo much that goes into things! its incredible what you can learn just form other lifters. at the meets that i have attended, its bad ass because you come home with all these new tips and corrections that help. Simple it is not! and being around people who have been doing it for years, you come away with alot of knowledge.

yay the vid played for me finally. i don’t know anything about benching… but you looked great to me. finally i understand why some people in my gym prefer to use the squat racks or uprights to bench - the benches are probably the wrong height for them (also you can set up the squat racks with the safeties for a spot). i don’t hate on people who are training bench properly (or trying to) in the squat racks. but then we can drop the bars with squatting so guess the squat racks aren’t so important… might be different if we weren’t allowed to drop and there was only one rack.

hey alexus! :D! yeah…i’m still leery of using the squat rack anyways, it’ll though my whole setup off.

I’m awful!! i totally see the point of people using it for other things …but i am selfish! i honestly walk into the gym and if my preferred rack is in use i get antsy… especially if its for other stuff! i always want the rack to be MINE! whenever i want!! but that’s wrong and bad…HA! >:)

I know what you mean about wanting ‘that’ rack. No, not the other one, ‘that’ one. You could always challenge the current occupant to a squat-off, with rights to the rack going to the winner. That would all but assure you of getting the one you want. nod

It’s not really close though, I keep my pinkies on the inside of the rings. Before I think I put my middle finger there or something. Not as comfy.

You really shouldn’t feel like a douche for benching in the power rack, like anyone else wants to use it for anything but curls anyway :slight_smile:

benching…just cuz. 125x6,x4, 130x2, 135 for one. then i was over it
good mornings 95 x7x 3 sets. haven’t doneany wt on these in a while.

OHHHHHHH…i am getting antsy for deadlifts…way antsy. Pacing around antsy!!

i attempted a suitable max as of now to see where i’m going to start, and I got to 265 with out things getting retarded.

i’m trying to decide how i want to go around getting them back. In the past i’ve lost my dl grove and had to get my strength back a few times. funny enough last summer when i got all jacked up from cutting wt and just having a rough time with other things in life my max was the same as it is now-- baseline max :slight_smile:

Its so hard to hold back.so hard! I’m going to have to simply stop with a set or 2 in the tank still for next time…and let go of past victories…that’s the toughest part. OH WELL.

hope you had fun with the snatches. don’t get me wrong i have MY squat rack, too, and i get pissy even if other people are squatting in it. you will come back better and stronger in your deadlift than you have ever been… eventually. i do empathize with your frustration that that hasn’t happened yesterday already. hang in there.

Brute, as the others said, especially Kris, I would have been RUINED if I’d witnessed you benching.

I, too, am possessive of a particular squat rack in my gym out here. Only…if I see inappropriate exercises being done (curls or pullups), I “impose” myself into the rack. My one asshole quality that I’ll admit to having.

Take your time with the DLs, woman! The weights and the numbers aren’t going anywhere, and last I checked, neither are you. :wink:

Great DLs, I say keep pulling, just don’t max often.
You need to get the back stronger and you do that with those DLs.
