LMAO about the shiatsu butt massage! Sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do.
My schedule isn’t as weird as yours, but I know what you mean. If I don’t have anything to do I go to the gym too.[/quote]
Yes to this. Wondering where I can fit a shiatsu massage chair in my house. Must have cup holders for my Mt. Dew. OK, I’ve got a Diet Dr. Pepper addiction but you get the idea. Cherry Diet Dr. Pepper is especially good. Hope you back feels good today Brute.
hey BRE! yeah, like Snap and Beast say, you just have to be fairly mind full of your back being straight. I find if you look up to the ceiling, miracles can happen–i find as long as i don’t give up,ceiling looking is the way to go.
My mistake for deads are over enthusiasm, i felt totally fine before i screwed my back up,it just took one set of me trying to go ball blasting–then i got sloppy for the sake of the party..and there you go :{
BEAR! and Nadia and Maschy And Veg and Alexus and Puff, Kimba and Snap :)!! sigh–i love coming back to my log seeing all the lovelies !
Thanks Beast Happy birthday! :D!-
Saturday was some cardio and yesterday was a successful baby step deadlift day
warmed up with glute activations, streching, bird dogs
deads bar x5, 135x 5, 185x 5, 205x 5, 225x 5, 245x 5, 265
benching 120x7, 125x4x 2 sets, 130x2, 135 x 2 singles, about 90% down to chest of 140
bar only gm’s
push presses 115x5 x 3 sets
30 mins cardio
I like how you were all “Eff benching, it’s the worst.” And now you’re reaching for a higher single what seems like every other workout. grin Good to see you creeping back up on the deadlift numbers too. Just fake a photo of yourself trying to walk with extreme back pain, stick it up over your mirror, and stare at it for a bit before your dead days. That might keep you from going overboard. (I should do that myself actually…)
Your overhead squats are ridiculous. I’d try to see if I can match them but I’d just fail and feel silly. Been doing any O-lift practice at home? It’s crazy cool that you’ve got a bar in your living room, p.s.
Kristof! thanks! i can only dream of the covered bw bench…still so far away :{
That is a fantastic idea about the old cripple photo–WORD. No snatches done at home last week since i dead lifted, I might do them this week for giggles
OH! i forgot to post that i did dips too…on the assist machine of course
5x w/ 4o pound asst
3 w/ 30 pound asst
one with “no asst” i think it still has some sorta counter balance not technically on my own obviously.i hate those.
BRE! here’s my bench vid.its the wonky 135 that i did today. Ignore the benching part i guess though.
the setup is pretty typical for how i try to get an arch–stolen form PMPM’s raw benching style I have trouble with that.
nice going on the chin-ups and dips! see, you CAN do a dip
glad you had another nice DL session, too.
Can’t get the vid to play properly (my internet connection probably) but I love your stripes.
I love K’s idea for the cripple photo, I’m totally gonna use that with some of my patients who keep doing dumb shit and setting themselves back. We are right at the beginning of gardening season, so this is prime time at the office.
Spread your legs farther to get more leg drive while keeping your ass fully in contact with the bench. I can arch like I do and get leg drive without my ass coming up 1) because my legs are way shorter than yours, and 2) because I spread em. I will literally unlace my shoes so the soles appear flat, and I can spread my legs farther while still having the required “feet in full contact with floor.”

OMG YOU’RE SUPER HAWT!!! Love your strypes! I guess in my gym someone told EVERYONE that arching is the DEVIL, cuz everytime I arch I get a critique from the daily expert…It’s important for me though because I need it to get under the bar, I need it to feel the trap/lats ‘pushing’.
THANK YOU!!! I wish I could see your arms more, but this was a great side view. What’s your grip spacing like? Do you go for the 90deg at the elbow, or do you go wider?

So yeah, you’d have caught me slack-jawed and staring when you sat up. The combination of the arch setup, the stripes(!), and the weight going up. I’d like to think I’d continue with business as usual but that’s just not true.
My only contribution other than thinly veiled fawning is to ask if there’s a particular reason you did your cardio before your benching today, vs. other days when you bench first. Also to suggest giving it a go with your elbows a little closer to the body; I know for me that lets me get my lats into it a little more and makes my shoulders happier. If you’ve tried that and prefer your current style rock on; your numbers are going up pretty steadily and your bench relationship is deepening. Hooray young love. grin
p.s. Don’t meh your squats after those crazy Bulgarians!
p.p.s. Have you tried starting with it (the bar) one step lower? When you racked it it looked like you had to protract your shoulders a bit to get it up, which means you likely have to do some of that to get it unracked, which could in turn be affecting your stability negatively. That’s my final amateur two cents. To the laboratory!! dashes
I got nothing since I have no benching skillz whatsoever - but i will say, those Bulgarian split squats AND back squats are insane!! Glad to see you getting back on the DL bandwagon too! Go you!
