If he breaks out that 18 year old kid

I’m just doing my part to get more people to compete.

Awwwhhh!!

That was so nice!

I have been seriously considering the Belle River meet… and am in the process of trying to get the time off of work.

I knew I was gonna at least attend to watch and learn, but after that display of grace, beauty, power and coordination… I have been inspired.

I start midnight shifts tonight, should have the schedule for the next 2 months and a definitive answer by tomorrow.

Now, if you had of been wearing those special shorts, I would have gone AWOL despite having to work… lol!

Of course it’s bad for you. All the best things in life are. Just like bad men and high heels.

Even worse… men in bad high heels… right sfp?! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well, my sessions have been all screwed up, with my bench and deadlift sessions offset by one week each, so as a result my "deload was kinda screwed up too.

So, to remedy the situation, and to start my next training cycle off concurrently, I decided to make yesterday my “Deadlift Test Day”

I was happy, yet disappointed at the same time with the end result… as I will now explain…

MAY 4TH DEADLIFT TEST DAY

135x10x2
225x6
315x4
405x2
(belt on)
495x1
545x1 (easy- see video)

600x1 (PR 15 lbs- no $%#@! video)
600x0 (see video)

600x0
495x1

So video the 545 rep, regular guy from the gym sees me going up to 600 lbs and says, “Hey, you want me to hold the camera and video for ya?”

I say, “Sure, that would be great” and proceed to show him how to use it. He says, “Dude, I know how to work a camera” and I say, “cool”.

I tell him that as soon as I set up over the bar to start the video.

I get psyched up, throw some resin on, grab the bar, start pulling… it breaks the ground, a “flash” goes off… I keep pulling, it slows and shakes a bit around my knees… but then I throw the hips forward and lock it out. YEAH BABY!!

I turn my head to smile for the camera and the guy is standing there fiddling with the camera with a confused look on his face.

I put the weight down, guy says “sorry man, I think I pushed the wrong button”. I hit replay, and he took a picture of me at the start of the pull. I remained calm, said “no problem, did you get a picture when I locked it out?” He says, “no, I didn’t think to”.

So I say to myself,“self… (and I knew it was me because I recognized the voice) just pull it again, and video tape this one.”

So, I thank the guy… he slinks away, I rest for a few minutes… and try to pull it again, twice… with negative results.

So, I am happy I finally hit 600, but I honestly thought I was gonna pull 620 minimum today.

I am unhappy I did not get a video… so I guess it never really happened.

Jowee… if your reading this… you owe me a beer bro’!

My goal is now a 650 pull for the competition in August.

And… I now start my new bench and deadlift cycle together, which will make life so much easier.

Sweet!

Bunny, First of all, did you realise that age is more than a number? Did you get the memo?

Second, I have the urge to drive up there and punch that guy in the kidneys for being an idiot.

Third, 600 totally counted regardless of video. Good on you. You must be completely stoked today. I wonder if you would have hit 620 if you had gone directly there rather than burning out at 600.

Great pull Bunny. You’ll break 1000 total by August.

LOL! Nope, didn’t get the memo… wait… was that that the one written in crayon?

I know… I was so pissed off, but I did not want to look like a total jerk screaming at some guy who was truly trying to be of assistance. He is a nice guy, just thick.

After I hit 600, I contemplated going up to 610 or 620, but I was worried I was not going to get it, and then I would have nothing on video… turns out, well… you know.

Plus, the 600 went up kinda shaky too… which is weird because I found 545 really easy. I was also rushed for time, because I contemplated going for a coffee… and then coming back to the gym and doing it all over again.

Oh well.

Thanks Eco, I hope your right.
Now, if I could bench like you I would be at 1200 come August.

BunZilla! Big congrats on the major PR. For those of us old enough to remember a time without youtube or even video cameras, we still had PR lifts, even back then.

Do the meet, little brother, before your wife tells you that you aren’t allowed to.
old lardass

I’m surprised that he doesn’t need a rectal-cameraectomy at this point…

Dude, you’ll be warming up with 650 by July.

Great work! Watching you and the crew keep moving forward is definitely inspiring.

On a side note, I am surprised that the LE in you allowed you to trust someone else enough to turn over the camera  Of course, I could be jaded…

Wow, that 545 really did come up easy. Great work all around!

no video… .didn’t happen- man rule #46b

just kidd’n. awesome pull. if 600 was a bit shakey then there’s pretty much no chance that you are going to hit it on the second attempt. deadlift takes more out of the CNS than any other lift…period. In the future, if it isn’t a clean lift, meaning- no sticking points, then DON’T go for another attempt. All it does is set your recovery back.

I think we need to incorporate more speed pulls in your training. i think that will do the trick as well as elevated pulls at knee level really working on forcing the hips through hard and fast.

great job bro.

Awesome pullin’ bunny!
