I was impressed by Lee’s nunchaku expertise but this video left me awestruck.

Holy shit, that was my same reaction.

It’s amazing to see how the sport has advanced.

I couldn’t be bothered to read all 5 pages of this thread, so I appologize in advance, if this has already been said.

But…

How often do we have “Best Pie Eating” threads on T-Nation?

Click on QUOTE to a post with BOLD in it, and it will show you the html code used.

The only ‘tricks’ I have seen regular posters use are underline, bold, and italics. If there are others, I’d be interested to learn what they are.

Just a relevant thought since you brought up Granny the Good Baker (may she rest in peace), how often do we have “Best Baker” threads on T-Nation? This could be a reason why she isn’t brought up as often as Bruce Lee.

While Granny may have been a great baker of pie, I doubt she was a pioneer, i.e. the first pie baker in the U.S. that taught non-pie-bakers how to bake with the threat of being ostracized by her peers. There are a lot of dead people that are discussed frequently.

People can debate how good a martial artist or physical specimen Bruce Lee was or wasn’t. The fact remains that he started a martial arts trend in the U.S. by opening up the instruction to non-Asians when it was not cool to do so. He also was a pioneer in breaking with the traditional ways of teaching martial arts. Like him or not, he will likely be a topic of discussion for years to come.

Another thing for the flamers to come, regardless of whether or not he was the first to do what I’ve written above, he is acknowledged to be the first, much like a Spanish Jew is an Italian-American hero for discovering America when in fact he wasn’t.

Did Granny do this with pie baking?

martial art was open to non asians just not kung fu thanks

I found that the first fight very exciting and suspenseful. The Japanese really take it to another level. That was better than Pride.

The Kobodu fight was brutal, I’ve never seen someone get cold cocked with a weapon like that. I bet that left a mark if it didn’t break something.

There’s more where that came from. check out this ground and pound.

He was smaller than my grandmother (who has also passed away).[/quote]

Yes everyone who is small is useless to and doesnt deserve a place in society. You have to be big, useless and struggle to walk up the stairs.

Is lance armstrong useless because hes smaller than your granny is he? when he dies noone should talk about him because he was skinny.

oo and i forgot skinny people cant fight .

Agreed

Yes, he is useless.

You obviously completely missed the tongue and cheek humor in this thread. Why don’t you go crawl back under the rock where you slithered out from.

Yes, if you read Bruce Lee’s tao of jeet kun do you would know this. On page 63 Bruce states “My only regret is that I look anorexic and and have trouble lifting my leg with shoes on. To be a good Kung foo man you must be large and have trouble walking up stairs.”

No, he is not useless. He is actually quite large. he wears a holographic skinny man outfit as part of an espionage ring that spies on emaciated european bike riders. Also, I heard that the freemasons and the world bank payed off the other bike riders to let him win. He is actually way too big to ride that fast.

Why do they have weight classes again? Oh yeah so the big guys don’t kill the small guys by accident while stretching out or accidently eat them as a snack after the match.

Now get back to watching kung fu movies and dreaming of having the walking crane-praying mantis-iron palm-death touch. Just remember: chicks dig kung foo men… in the 1970’s.

Hahahahaha!! Congratulations!!!

EVERYONE was skinny in the days Bruce Lee was alive. Ever watch 1960’s to 1970’s show reruns? Wakes you up to how fat our reference for “normal” has gotten in the last few decades in America.
