Week 2 of the new program. Solid session in the gym last night.
Squat - 6x4
265x4 for all 4 sets.
Bench - 6x2
230x2 for all 6 sets.
My bench seems to be feeling stronger each week, it’s freakin’ awesome. Also I’m really working on my squat form each time I squat, trying sit back, keep the arch and lead with my chest. It’s getting there.
Question for ya’ll. My hunger seems to be kicking into overdrive. I know that I’m not eating enough but damn, I woke up at about 6am today and my stomach was hurting. Is that normal? And still right now my stomach is killing me after breakfast.
I’ve never experienced hunger like this before on a training program. Damn.
It gets worse, since this program I get 6 meals in…consistently.[/quote]
Ok, that makes me feel better. This weekend the hunger hit me out of nowhere. I didn’t know if I was getting sick or something because my stomach was constantly hurting! Even after I had just got done eating. haha Bring on the food!
Yeah I’m always hungry. My main meals of the day though I eat till I’m somewhere between uncomfortable and miserable which keeps me bloated for at least 3 hours, so that helps.
Had a really good chest day.

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days. Work stuff is crazy this time of year. One of my many responsibilities is coordinating all our company functions and trade shows to maintain consistent image and push our current branding campaign. This time of year (really September through January) is rife with trade shows and hospitality suites, so workouts are done anytime I have free time to get to the gym and food is the best stuff available, but generally not ideal. Luckily, with my current goal of pure strength gain, I can afford to eat a little crappier in the name of getting enough food. I try to minimize the booze and the less healthy snacks and foods, but some indulgence is almost inevitable in business circumstances.
I make provisions to lift in cities I travel to for business and I try to figure out the best choices for eating out in those cities. When I am coordinating the hospitality events, I make sure there are healthier options for food and that the events offer opportunity for some type of physical activity (even if that just means making sure most people stand rather than sit after a long day of meetings).
All that being said, I did get a chance to hit the gym on Saturday morning before this last event really started up.
I know that I spoke briefly about my Vibram Five Fingers after I bought them, just wanted to give you guys an update.
Update: THEY FUKIN’ ROCK!
Easily the best things I have ever put on my feet. Since wearing these as much as I can and just being barefoot all the time, my posterior knee pain in my right knee is completely gone. It’s amazing.
The only thing that sucks is winter is on the horizon and wearing these when there is snow and ice on the ground might be an option. Boo winter.
I think everyone should get a pair. Deadlifting in them is fantastic!
Back Squats: 48145
Deadlifts: 48145
Pullups: 4810
Bench Press: 38225
16225 (failed at 7)
Militaries: 48125
Bent Rows: 48125
Sets had 90 seconds rest in between up until 2nd set of bench presses when another guy wanted to ‘work in’ and talked my ear off as well as stealing the straight bar to do his 15 sets of bench presses. Did militaries and bent rows with ez curl bar.
Really good session tonight…I’ve definitely gotten stronger on all the exercises. I love those pull-overs.
Got myself new wrist straps today from Schiek…AWESOME…they go hand in hand with my new belt. Best accessory purchases to date.

WS4JB and I saw a guy wearing those five finger things, WS4JB decided they had no protection…unlike his raggedy frees.
