Week 2 of the new program. Solid session in the gym last night.

Squat - 6x4
265x4 for all 4 sets.

Bench - 6x2
230x2 for all 6 sets.

My bench seems to be feeling stronger each week, it’s freakin’ awesome. Also I’m really working on my squat form each time I squat, trying sit back, keep the arch and lead with my chest. It’s getting there.

Question for ya’ll. My hunger seems to be kicking into overdrive. I know that I’m not eating enough but damn, I woke up at about 6am today and my stomach was hurting. Is that normal? And still right now my stomach is killing me after breakfast.

I’ve never experienced hunger like this before on a training program. Damn.

It gets worse, since this program I get 6 meals in…consistently.[/quote]

Ok, that makes me feel better. This weekend the hunger hit me out of nowhere. I didn’t know if I was getting sick or something because my stomach was constantly hurting! Even after I had just got done eating. haha Bring on the food!

Yeah I’m always hungry. My main meals of the day though I eat till I’m somewhere between uncomfortable and miserable which keeps me bloated for at least 3 hours, so that helps.

Had a really good chest day.

1 set of calves.

Went to class, got a smoothie, now it’s time for dinner!

Sure looks like everyone has been training hard.

I jogged 3 miles today.
Then 4x55m sprints.

I sure feel more powerful when I sprint.
It’s a good feeling.

Tomorrow I will be doing some sumo DL’s.

And speaking of food last night I had a giant helping of potato skins, and one the juiciest Philly cheese steak sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Tonight I had 1c of fried rice and some Gen Tsos’ Chicken with an egg roll on the side.

Yum!

Weak chest day, but came away with a huge pump.

← new dp was from this morning, I believe I’ve come a long way in the past 15 or so months

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days. Work stuff is crazy this time of year. One of my many responsibilities is coordinating all our company functions and trade shows to maintain consistent image and push our current branding campaign. This time of year (really September through January) is rife with trade shows and hospitality suites, so workouts are done anytime I have free time to get to the gym and food is the best stuff available, but generally not ideal. Luckily, with my current goal of pure strength gain, I can afford to eat a little crappier in the name of getting enough food. I try to minimize the booze and the less healthy snacks and foods, but some indulgence is almost inevitable in business circumstances.

I make provisions to lift in cities I travel to for business and I try to figure out the best choices for eating out in those cities. When I am coordinating the hospitality events, I make sure there are healthier options for food and that the events offer opportunity for some type of physical activity (even if that just means making sure most people stand rather than sit after a long day of meetings).

All that being said, I did get a chance to hit the gym on Saturday morning before this last event really started up.

Military Press:
185x2 kinda pissed I didn’t hit at least 3 or 4…guess I need to do these for a couple weeks.

Whole workout just felt funny, don’t know what it was. Well I need to go out and buy some more weight for tomorrow’s deadlift.

jstines, where there’s a will there’s a way. You can keep gaining strength during this busy time of year if you put effort into it.

I know that I spoke briefly about my Vibram Five Fingers after I bought them, just wanted to give you guys an update.

Update: THEY FUKIN’ ROCK!

Easily the best things I have ever put on my feet. Since wearing these as much as I can and just being barefoot all the time, my posterior knee pain in my right knee is completely gone. It’s amazing.

The only thing that sucks is winter is on the horizon and wearing these when there is snow and ice on the ground might be an option. Boo winter.

I think everyone should get a pair. Deadlifting in them is fantastic!

But I deadlift in nothing but socks…surely they can’t be even better than that?!

Or you could deadlift barefoot like me. Oh wait, that requires lifting with your own equipment. Lol.

They are better and don’t call me Shirley.

WS4JB and I saw a guy wearing those five finger things, WS4JB decided they had no protection…unlike his raggedy frees.

No it doesn’t…I deadlift barefoot regardless of if I’m lifting at home with my own equipment or at the gym.
