Do you guys have a special bar for preachers at your gym? Or did you use an EZ bar?

In the days to come, do yourself a favor and avoid any physical contact between your long-head and solid objects.

Yesterday??s Arms

PJR Pullover / Pinwheel Curl:

100x12 / 75x12
100x12 / 75x10
100x11 / 75x10

Tricep Pressdown / Low-pulley Concentration Curl (was really trying to squeeze at the top ?? trying to see if I can force myself to develop a bicep peak lol)

220x9 / 70x12
220x8 / 70x12
195x13 / 70x12

Tricep Pulldown & Apart (rope) / Reverse Curl:

120x14 / 90x19
*switched from the pulldown with rope bc it was irritating elbow and went with a underhand, 1 arm tricep pulldown.
60x13 / 90x15
60x11 / 90x15

Notes: The PJR pullovers were awesome. My gym’s dumbbells stop at 100s unfortunately so I need to think of what to do for progression, I like working around 8-12reps and I’m already able to do that with the 100lb dumbbell.

Try the two-arm version to make it interesting.

You could do them with 2 dumbells, maybe tape/strap the two together, even.

As for bis (unless this stuff irritates your elbows): Seated BB/EZ curls, have only been doing those for a week, but
I like them. Seen my DC brother Dave Henry do 'em and some guys over at IM recommending them… So chances are that they aren’t that bad of an exercise

Another bicep thing, which I already suggested to bug:
Use an offset-grip(thumb and index finger against the inside plates of your db’s) on alt. db curls and incline db curls…
Start the exercises in a hammer-position and rotate your wrist into the regular (“supinated”?) position (try to rotate them as far as possible) while your lift the db.
On the way down, you reverse that motion (you probably already curl that way, anyway).

Lol, you beat me to it and I didn’t even notice before I posted

Man so after reading most of “The Bauer Chronicles” I feel like a little girl. Kinda like after reading Mega Newb’s training.

Only way to get rid of that feeling is by getting bigger and stronger.

I remembered it from the triceps training thread.

Thanks Qaash and Carnage. I’ll probably do some exmperimenting on my next arm day to see what I can come up with for the PJR pullovers, I really did love that exercise though. I have a feeling that any kind of underhand curling will bother my elbow for now but I’ll do some really light stuff to experiment. Cable concentration curls didn’t bug my elbow though, I supposed my elbow with my knee. Doing the concentration curl with a DB though did bother it, pretty weird.

And h4m I concur. Beaur chronicles makes me feel like a tiny pussy. Even after receiving lots of compliments last night at the gym on my size gains. lol

9/26/08

Squats/Deadlift supersets: 215115

Militaries/Pullups supersets:
215100 /215BodyWeight

Close Grip Bench/Bent Rows supersets:
215165/215115

240 seconds between sets

That’s interesting… Did you put your elbow against your knee when doing conc. curls with a db, too?

Yes, but I think I should have put my elbow ON my knee instead of against it since the resistance is coming from a different angle. Hard to explain but if you play out how the 2 work in your head I think you’ll see what I mean. I think I’ll try that next time actually, this elbow thing is really starting to get fucking annoying. Some days I don’t notice it at all and other days it just throbs all day long. Going to icy-hot my entire elbow right now.

Hm… Where exactly in the elbow area does it hurt, again?

Kinda like right in the center.

Center of the elbow, on the tricep side. By that I mean I don’t feel the pain in my bicep area, I feel it on the back side of the elbow.
josh86 wrote:

Mh, didn’t experience anything like that before, I’m afraid…

When did the pain start ? Did it slowly increase over time?

I have issues with elbow pain on my left side off and on, I think its mostly due to alignment issues from having broken a few different bones on my left side. Including my left wrist and left collar bone. The left collar bone is now shorter, which pulls my left shoulder in a bit and I can visually see the alignment differences from it. Most people don’t notice it but I do, lol.

Started a couple weeks ago again after going away for a few months. Its been pretty much the same pain feeling now for like 2 weeks consistently…as in it hasn’t been getting any worse.

Ok, that’s way out of my league. What does the doctor say?

What doctor? Lol I uhhh hate going to the doctor - its such a waste of time. They always say the same fucking thing “Ok well it’ll be fine you just gotta lay off the lifting for a few weeks”. Fuck that.

edit: For now I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing, experimenting and finding exercises that don’t irritate it and if it continues to get worse or doesn’t go away eventually I’ll go to the doctor. For now I am too into my bulk to let a doctor tell me I need to stop lifting for a few weeks. Maybe when I hit 220 I’ll go. lol
Mh, I see your point. Since Pinwheels work, how about Alt. Hammers ?
