I’m 5’10" - around 195 currently (gettin soft though lol)
Haven’t been around, but still training. Little girl is doing well. 3 months old now.
Had some cellulitis in my leg (staph infection), that sucked. done with that.
See ya around.
(BTW, I’m 6’6" about 270lbs.)
I’m 176 cm, I think that’s slightly under 5’10 ? Dunno.
To our very own Tom Platz: Don’t worry dude, maybe just stay in the higher rep ranges and increase you strength there…

The only thing I’m really having trouble deciding on is whether I want to hit deadlifts on my leg day or my back day.
Keep in mind this is mainly due to the fact that I lift at home with limited equipment so my selection of exercises is less than it would be if I were lifting at a commercial gym.
If I decide to hit the deadlifts on back day I may switch the off day from thursday to wednesday to give an extra day of rest to my lower back and hams.[/quote]
You should give it a shot, I tried it for the first time last thursday and it got me very well prepared mentally for the rest of the workout. And I don’t think my back has ever been so sore for the next 2-3 days (I’m usually only sore 1, maybe 2 days after my workouts, never 3).
Didn’t take the time to post thursday’s squats, speed pulls and ab/lowerback work (after my olympic lifting) and friday’s pec and tricep workout, I’ll post the next ones though.
Had my shoulder and bicep workout today, it went really well. Today was also my first day back training in my college’s gym, spent most of the summer training in my garage. It felt weird, lots of people, and this one guy who sat down and read a magazine the whole time I was there lol.
DB shoulder press (I elevate my feet on a step to keep my from arching my lower-back)
30 x 8
45 x 2 felt too easy, upped the weight
50 x 7,4,3,3
Upright row (with straps)
45 x 8
95 x 8,7,6
Cable lateral raise (c.t.)
15 x 4
10 x 5,3,2
Incline lateral raise (face down)
5 x 12,6,6
BB curl
64 x 8,6,5,3
Preacher curl (c.t., worked my forearms more than my biceps)
20 x 7,6 (dunno what the bar weighs)
BB curl (c.t.)
45 x 4
Alt. DB curl (c.t.)
15 x 18,10,9
I just realized that I forgot 1 set on all of my shoulder exercises, oups lol. Next week I’ll be using the 55’s for the presses, and I’ll switch the preacher curls out for something else.
What do you guys think of doing curls with ankle straps around the wrists? Because I feel like I trained my forearms today, not my biceps, could that kind of exercise help?
Diarrhea was really really bad today. Had to move in and it’s been stressful. Not gonna make it to the gym. Chest getting destroyed tomorrow. I’m 6’1" by the way.
I feel like my stomach is an inflatable swimming pool and Ronnie is doing running cannonballs into it every 45 seconds. Ugh
I’m 5’8", most likely the shortest here haha. I’ll be back later tonight with DE bench and some other work.
Ok here goes:
DE bench:
155x3/3/3/3/3/3/3/3
OH presses (can’t remember what they’re called, the ones where you touch the bar to the top of your head then go back up)
185x6/3
Kroc Rows:
150x12
Chinups:
90x5/5
Machine Curls:
85x15
Felt nice and solid, benching was very explosive. Now I need to decide what to use for the coming ME bench in a few days, probably incline bench or board presses.
Keep lifting heavy and hard guys, good luck getting that squat up jtg.
yo yo yo!!! whats up fellas?? looking huge ya’ll!! except you bug…lol!! Hungry, why not try some floor press on ME day? I’ve found that incline bench strength rarely transfers to flat bench…ever do floor presses?
btw I am 5’10" 230 pounds at the moment…looking to get back up to 245-250 by december…I love bulking season!!
and you can keep those high reps man!! not my thing, my freakish partner alex, he’s the fucking rep master…and his quads are the size of horses legs!! but I just hate reps, I like strength…but I know I have to switch it up every so often…I’m trying…but I have made progress, I use to just lift 3’s!! thats why I can squat 600x2 raw, but I can barely get 405x12 lol!!
but the tom platz comments got me inspired today to do some oly high bar squats and really bury them…very mubling experience…but my legs are just toasted by them!! no wonder platz had huge legs!!

ME deadlift and lower back/hamstring+ab work today:
Conventional Deads:
215x5
275x3
335x2
385x1
435x1
490x1
450x1/1/1
RDLs:
285x4
355x10
Weighted Crunches:
35x25
At least I hit 490, 500’s right around the corner in the next few weeks. It was brutal doing RDLs after 4 heavy deads, I’m going to have to change something there next time I do ME deads.
Keep it up T-men.
Real short on time yesterday, went with a high intensity chest and bicep workout, sore today, so i must have done something right. Great pump afterwards as well.
Incline Smith -
225 x 8 reps (straight set)
205 x 10 reps (rest pause)
Machine Flyes -
150 lbs x 19 (10/5/4) rest pause
Dips -
BW x 31 (16/9/6) rest pause
Preacher Curl -
90 lbs x 15 (9/4/2) rest pause
1 arm machine curl-
rt - 60 lbs x (6/4/3) rest pause
lf - 60 lbs x (8/5/4) rest pause
Comments: doesnt look like much, but this was a damn good workout. Got completely trapped under the bar the first straight set of incline benching, that hadnt happened in about 3 years, felt like a real twat, but luckily i was able to dump it into the rack.
Getting ready to go do legs, my lower back is fucking up, gonna have to do leg press instead of squats today, which im not a fan of, but i’ll have to make it work.
UndertheStar, youre crazy man, reading your workouts while downing a Spike Shooter could pretty much make anybody want to go train like an unchained freak.

Kinda hate you for that dead lift man, absolutely beastly to think that youre gonna hit that 500 dead lift at like 19.
Hows the search for the new bike going btw ?
Well I bought a 1990 ninja zx600r for only $700. The catch is that it needs a bit of tlc to be inspectable. I ordered some of the parts today, still need a gas tank, and even though I technically don’t need a windshield for it to pass inspection, I’m obviously getting one. Those 2 things will cost anywhere between $150-350. Already got a few friends interested in buying the 250.
Now that I think of it, a 500 lb deadlift before I turn 20 would be good. Only a tad over 2 months left for that. Let’s hope Westside and big eating don’t let me down in regards to that.
Heres the thing about the BOI, it gets in your head, you go in thinking youre not gonna squat, and then you start thinking about you bastards and decide maybe i can push it a little bit.
I think i was getting a big cocky with my squatting thanks to the big numbers on the box squat, so i decided to knock myself down a peg and go ass to grass.
only listing working sets
ATG squats -
315 x 6
225 x 24
Leg Press -
8 plates x 20 (Rest pause)
10 plates x 20 (rest pause)
Leg curls -
120 lbs x 19 (rest pause)
Standing BB calf raise -
225 x 29 (rest pause)
Seated calf raise -
3 plates x 24 (rest pause)
Comments: I definitely didn’t walk out of the gym the same way that i walked in, serious gimping to the car, one of those days where your calves done really want to push down on the gas or brake.
I’ve started drinking a half gallon of milk after every session, seems to be working, im gaining weight, and none of it appears to be slop, besides the 104 carbs from the milk, im really not taking in many otherwise.
H4M, where the hell did the find a bike for that cost ?

Bug - welcome back, sucks about the puking and shitting, not fun.
underthestar - seriously, you suck.
xb - good work on the sumo pulls.
JB - a 14 mile hike? seriously? what is going through your head to think that was a good idea! lol
hungry - glad to hear you finally got the bike, i’m jealous. i still have my green helmet and joe rocket jacket from when i had my bike. i’m not getting rid of those two things because they are giving me hope of some day having a bike again.
PozzSka - congrats on the new addition to the family.
jstines - all i use to wipe my bunghole is wet wipes. once you go with wet wipes, you will never go back to regular ol’ t.p. NEVER I TELLS YOU! I hear you with the repping 200lbs on bench. once you can get past that, it’s all down hill or something like that.
josh86 - absolutely do deads on your back day.
i know that’s not everyone but that’s all i can remember off the top of my head.
i’ve been hitting it hard and the diet is constantly getting better. i’m making better choices each day. i’m taking 3 classes this semester that all started this week so things are about to get a bit crazy.
i’m 6’1".
sorry for the no capitalization, feeling lazy at the moment.
will be in the gym in about an hour, will post the session tonight or tomorrow.
JB, it was 45 minutes away from my place. Got lost a few times on the way there, but made it eventually lol. Like I said though, it still needs a good deal of work before it’ll be streetworthy. I’m kind of looking forward to fixing it up though.
dre glad to see you’re still kicking, haven’t seen you around in a bit.
underthestar, I got a question for you regarding floor presses; how do you suggest I do them if I don’t have a spotter or a rack with pins that go low enough? Maybe put the bar on plates or something like that? If I can figure out a good solution before thursday’s ME bench I’m going to do them.
