Josh, I had my mom get the 22 lb bird for the 6 of us this year, so watch your back, im coming for you.

P.S I would do horrible things to your girlfriend.

Good shit man, I ate mass amounts of turkey with gravy and everything at like 4-5 different times on Thursday. Started at about 1pm after my shoulder workout and then ate again every 2-3 hours until about midnight. Good stuff.

P.S. I do horrible things to her alllll the time.

PPS She has enjoyed reading the comments in here, lol.[/quote]

tell her i said heeey :stuck_out_tongue:

oh btw im fucking psyched, i just ordered this black Bulls scully

http://www.footballfanatics.com/Default.aspx/lt/blank/ctl/ImageZoom/productID/dae03428-08da-4e98-a086-f20ae63ea49f/viewName/0

anyway, it has nothing to do with team. the bull is very symbolic to me. it represents power and dominance. anytime i see a show on the discovery channel or animal planet they always talk about the male “bull” (even if its about sea lions) and they talk about the biggest baddest bull getting exclusive mating rights and fucking up any other guy who comes across his way looking to intefere.

so i want to be the biggest baddest bull around and i cant wait to wear that hat every time i hit the gym for extra motivation.

…i also want to get “I Come, I See, I Conquer” in latin tattooed somewhere in my neck/upper pec area but im afriad that ill either get it too low and itll look weird when my pecs grow in more or too high and ill never get a job.

i also dont know how you even say those words in Latin. not that has to do with the hat, but talking about the hat got me all fired up.

Cute girl ya got there josh. Not that anyone else has said that or anything lol.

So…my legs are sore. Yesterday I did sprints, this morning I did some high rep squats, then tonight played floor hockey. Going to put off running a day for recovery…

Live, I used to take latin back in 8th grade.

So im basically an expert.

But anyway, I think the phrase is ‘I came, I saw, I conquered’ and its something to the tune of ‘veni vedi vici’.

look that up.

Careful H4M, I think those high rep squats might put on…gasp mass! It’s ok though, all that running might kill me in this shape.

For some reason I’m picturing you in one of those fat-man scooters ;D

right Veni Vidi Vici is past tense, i want in PRESENT tense, because in present tense to me it means that i never stop, every challenge i meet i conquer.

HAHAHAHA while I may not need one, nothing would make me happier.

I’m a fat man at heart, but I’m down a couple more pounds…

So I guess that means I have to eat MOAR…

edit: btw, shitty pic in my profile to prove I don’t need one of those scooters…not that I’m insecure or anything…

what up boys…checkin in. keep it up. i will be swingin in from time to time to see how everyone is doing with their goals. nice job boys!!

You really feel like explaining that to EVERYONE that sees it?

Well today I just piddled around the gym. Did some drynamic warmup and stretching stuff for about 20-25 minutes.

Sumo Deadlift
135x1/1
185x1/1
225x1/1
275x1/1
315x1
325x1
345x1
375x1 PR yay
380x1 PR double yay this was a grinder phew!!

BB Rows
115x10
135x10
150x10

Shrugs
205x15
225x12
275x10

DB Curls
25’s x a lot
35’s x 10

Reverse BB curls
2 sets

Awesome stuff. I took my time on everything from my warmup to actually getting into the heavy stuff. Took me about an hour and fifteen minutes.
I got a video of 375, and I thought I had a video of 380 but my fucking camera died! I can assure you, it took a lifetime and a half to lock out.

Week V

Workout I: Chest & Calves
30° Incline BB Press
95x12
150x12
185x10
205x8,7,5…I was hoping for a better improvement on these…I managed a extra rep on my second set but lost a rep on my last set.
45° Incline DB Press
85²x7,7…increased my reps on both sets, just tough cleaning these into place to start.
DB bench Press
95²x7…definitely stronger on these. Same issue of getting DB’s into position.
DB Flyes
55²x10,88

IM2000 Standing Calf Raises
216x15,12…these were with heels elevated…built a calf block out of some 2x4’s.

Did some more knee rehab today.

Box squats
45lbsx10
135lbsx10
155lbsx20

Went very easy and my knees felt good. I might finally start integrating a leg day at the gym again in the near future… I’ll have to take it slow though.

you know how many people know what Veni Vedi Vici means anyway? no. and if they ask what it means i will just flex and their heads will blowup.

Live, definitely make sure you’re pronouncing it correctly haha. Though it ain’t that hard to learn…took some Latin in high school myself. Cool language.

For tomorrow’s running, I decide I’m going to run down to this hill about a mile from my place, then run up and down it 8 times. Then I’ll work on adding “sets” haha. Maybe run up and down 1 more time each time I do it.

Don’t worry Mike, with all this volume, and a distinct lack of food, I don’t think gaining mass anywhere is a legitimate concern for me at this time.

Good to see you boys keeping at it over the holidays! I managed to cobble together a shoulders & arms workout in my mother-in-law’s basement with a seriously suspect collection of weights. Nothing worth posting up, but I got a good session in despite the adversity of limited and crappy equipment.

Debating whether or not to attempt my leg workout today. Been sick since Friday. Mostly just really stuffy, runny nose, cough, etc…last time I checked no fever. Usually working out helps me feel better, at least for the duration of the workout. But I just don’t see how I’m gunna progress on heavy leg day not feeling 100%.

May be that you went too long with rest-pausing (hey, you don’t use a rotation, have way fewer off days than a dc-trainee and so on… And we blast and cruise instead of going on and on) and beating the logbook at all times… Especially since you did train hard already before you began with this. Or maybe your diet was a little off lately + general stress…
Just take some time off now and get better.

Since you use intensity techniques now (and who would want to give up DC rest-pause again after having tried it with success ? ;D ), I’d suggest that you start thinking about regular deload/off periods…

I really just think I got sick because I only got 2 hours of sleep on Thursday night and that fucked me over. I was still feeling good until then. Perhaps I’ll go in today and just do 1 strait set of hack squats and 1 strait set of leg curls and not really push it too hard, stay a few reps shy of failure, etc.?

edit: Though reading your post over it does kind of all make sense and add up. Work has been crazy as hell the last 2 weeks. I think I worked like 13-15 hours of OT in the last 2 weeks and continued to not miss any workouts. And this past week prior to getting sick I did seem like I was kind of stalling out a bit. I think all this week I’ll just kind of go in and do some low-intensity (avoiding failure) workouts, just kind of winging it (no set routine). Then I should be feeling good and start hittin it hard again next Monday.

Hmmm, what purpose would that serve? You’re not going to lose strength at any kind of rate if you keep eating enough protein… Your choice man.

People often don’t sleep long enough/not well and don’t get sick off it

But with the physical stress you’re under, that was probably just the last bit needed to weaken your immune system enough for sickness to occur… Just saying, you’ll eventually get sick again if you keep going on and on. On a regular bb routine with no intensity techniques and very short workouts (ala pX) you wouldn’t have that issue, but your training has been evolving lately.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

I thought I had read in the DC thread that’s what you do for your deload week(s). That you just do like 1 strait set of 10ish reps and stay a few shy of failure, etc?

I really do NOT enjoy taking an entire week off from being in the gym completely. I’d rather go in and just kind of wing it, do whatever I feel like but avoid anything too intense, no failure, etc.
