I’m about 25 mins from ATL in the Kennesaw area. What part are you moving to?
Brookhaven.

Oh guys, on a totally unrelated note. I found someone locally selling 750lbs in olympic weights, olympic bars x2, power cage, bench, and more and my dad is going to go check it all out tomorrow (I’m paying for it, I just don’t have time to go check it out during the week). Looks like this weekend I should hopefully be setting up my own gym in the garage! So stoked!
Excellent! I would love to set up my own gym in my garage, but I doubt my wife would be too fond of getting kicked out of the garage (especially in the winter). I guess I just need to buy a new, bigger house and claim one of the rooms as “Meatheadland”

Haha, ya my mom is the same with her car. I have been given half the garage. lol

Today is weigh in, I check once a week in the morning after my piss on the same day each week. Stayed 187, looks like I’ll be increasing my food intake, been eating about 4000cals a day.

that’s pretty much the response I got from my wife when I told her my designs for the garage gym. First response from her, “where am I going to park in winter?” DAMN IT!

My garage isn’t even a 2 car size and I have it all measured out, don’t need more than half the garage for a cage. All you really need is enough room for a cage, you do everything inside the cage…

Great training session last night, back and biceps. Felt good, strong throughout. Tonight is shoulders and triceps. Can’t wait. I love training shoulders.

Saw the funniest shit ever in the gym last night. Two guys doing preacher curls with about 40 lbs., yeah they were making sure they wore a belt for their tough sets!

I couldn’t look at them because I laughed every time. I don’t care how much or how little you lift, we all start somewhere. But is the belt really necessary?

Question for any and everybody. I’m suppose to do pullups and the program calls for 4 sets of 10. Well, I can’t do that many. Is it better to do as many as I can unassisted or use the pullup machine to make sure I get all 10?

last nights legs:

leg press:3 sets
6 plates per side x 8
9 plates per side x 8
9 plates per side x 8

hack squat hammer strength:2 sets
45 +25 x 12
45 +25 x 10

walking lunges: 2 sets holding 30lbers
60 feet
60 feet

barbell sldl:3 sets
185 x 10
185 x 10
185 x 10
supersetted with seated calf raises
3 sets with extremely slow eccentric/fast concentric

Stupid midwest winters GRRRRRRRRR

I had the same issue doing ABBH (it called for 5 sets of 10 reps). I just did as many sets as it took to get all 50 reps in, unassisted. Seems to have increased the amount of chins I can do over the course of the program.

That’s a good idea, why didn’t I think of that? Thanks.

Winters here are freakin’ brutal, I hate them.

Josh I work out 95% of the time in my garage.
It’s a good investment, and if you can get used equipment it’s even better. I have over 600lbs of olympic weights, adjustable bench, db’s up to 50lbs, and squat rack all for under 500$

One thing you might want to invest in is a space heater for the winter. And my garage is a 1 1/2 car garage and I use up about 1/4 of that space and have plenty of room to spare.

I live in SoCal man, I doubt I’ll ever need a heater. haha

Anyway yeah the deal is through a guy I found on craigslist, 750lbs of olympic weights, 2 oly bars, power cage (wanted a cage specifically for heavy benching safety), decline bench w/ the crappy leg ext/leg curl thing. All for $250. All I’d need to get is one of those dip/pullup stations (all over craigslist for like 50 bucks) and some dumbbells (most expensive thing! grrr)

Eventually I’d like to add a glute-ham raise, reverse-hyper (both of which my commercial gym doesn’t have), full set of dumbbells up to 150lbs, roman chair, and some rubber plates.

Not the greatest leg day.

Deadlifts
135 X 10
225 X 8
275 X 6
315 X 5
I was going to do 365, but I started way too slow on the lift and probably did too much warm up, so I dropped it almost immediately.

Elevated Lunges
125 X 10
135 X 8
145 X 8

Low Pulley Pull-Throughs
205 X 15
265 X 10
Entire Stack (305) X 10

My entire body feels pretty depleted, so it may have been a better workout than I originally thought.

SSC if you’re pushing up the weights or reps, then don’t worry to much about how the session “felt”. On the other hand, even if it “feels” like an amazing session, but you’re not making progress, don’t be afraid to eat more/change up your programming.

My pull session:

Deadlifts:
215x5
265x3
315x2
365x1
415x1
465x2

Chins:
60x12

Rows:
235x9

Curls:
115x12

Horizontal Pullups:
bwx12

KNEW I would hit 465x2, but hitting it felt awesome all the same. I’m gonna go back to doing conventional deads every other pull session now, I’m sure doing them 3 pull workouts in a row has been taxing on my CNS and such. Squat and Deads are coming along pretty well…now for my bench…

dre, I second jstine’s idea.

Congrats on hitting the 465x2! That’s awesome! Soon you are gunna be rippin 5 plates per side from the floor!

second the congrats H4M on the deads, My training partner hit 500x1 last week, hes still euphoric.

I had low volume chest and quads tonight… It went fantastic!

Increased reps on the low incline db press r/p by 5 reps

low incline db press r/p
30kg dbs 9/5/3
30kg dbs 7/4/3

decline db flyes r/p + drop set
20kg dbs 9/6/4 + 12kg dbs 10

high bar close stance squat
185lb 1x12

hack squat
140lbs 1x20

side note:

I went off to a Uk version of costco
I bought:

15 lbs of topside beef
12 lbs chicken breast
2 lbs tuna steaks
30 eggs
2 cartons pasteurised eggs
2lbs almonds
spinach

So the hunt for equipment to pick up for my house continues. My dad went and checked out that stuff for me today while I’m at work and sent me pics of it that he took with his phone. It is NOT a squat/power “cage”. Its a squat rack. I talked to the guy on the phone and specifically asked if it was a cage style with adjustable safety bars and all that crap and he assured me it was. Second guy I’ve talked to that called their rack a cage. Irritating!

20 rep squat challenge against a buddy of mine tonight. I had never done any sets with more than 10 reps on the squat, my legs were burning like crazy. I didn’t know what weight to use so I started with 1 plate.

Squat
20x135
20x155
20x175
20x185

I’m going to try with 205 next time, and 225 if I do it again later.

Finished my quads with leg-extensions
10x85
10x135
10x165
10x175

I had so much trouble getting back to the car !

@H4M - Nice pull !

Quad Dominant Legs today! The AC was broken in the gym’s weight area, was humid as fuck! I think it caused me to fatigue way too fast, after the BB squat I was already hating life.

Squat (ATG):

135x10, 185x5, 225x5, 275x4 (PR), 225x5

Bulgarian Split Squat holding DBs: (reps are each leg)

35s x10x3sets

Hack Squat Machine:

2 plates per side x12x3sets

Leg Extensions:

140x15, 160x12, 160x12

I almost fell when I left the gym, when I stepped off the curb my leg buckled and I swear I thought I was going to eat it. Great workout! lol

I know what you mean!! I have to go up TWO flights of steps to get to the free weights in my gym and some times I just want to lay down on the steps and slide down
