Broccoli and Hormonal Balance

is it really anti estrogenic? to what extent?
and does it reduce testosterone as well , because it seems that chemical castration is the rage in medicine today and everything that does that to you is automatically good … and some estrogens as as bonus from soy ,

Is there any place I can find the effects of common fruits and veggies on testosterone and estrogen?

You’re gonna drive yourself nuts.

In the very best situation you could ever hope for every beat of your heart is bringing you closer to your goals and your grave at the same time. Just sitting there breathing is a double edged sword.

If you weren’t shooting your virtual self in your avatar you probably wouldn’t think like that.

Yeah, that may sound a little pessemistic… but tell us its untrue.

The point I’m making is that there’s downside to everything. Biological entropy is working against everything we do or we’d live forever. Just about everything that’s good for you is also bad for you on some level, including breathing, so if you make it your life’s mission to only eat foods that have no negative side to them you’ll soon find yourself in a secure facility doing arts and crafts with a guy who thinks he’s Napoleon.

It’s all in your head. If your worrying about everything this much, such as eat ing some broccoli, chances are you worry alot. Worrying alot is a trait of women/low test levels/depression. Stop worrying so much about the little things, and get on with your life.

Theres a study about a study about anything and everything. Just the other day I read an article that said “Having Sex Daily Lowers Testerone Levels”. Will you stop having sex if you read that?

This is the latest report I have read about broccoli:

“Broccoli contains a phytochemical known as indole-3-carbinol which gets converted in the body to 3.3-diindolylmethane (DIM). DIM reduces the strength of estrogens by converting them to weaker varieties in the liver. This diminishes estrogen’s effects on fat gain and water retention, and strengthens testosterone’s anabolic effects. Broccoli also contains the cancer-fighter sulforaphane, an antioxidant that forms from the inactive compound glucoraphanin when you chew your broccoli.”

It’s suggested to eat around 1 cup a day of steamed or raw broccoli to get all the advantages of it. I’ve been doing this and feel great.

If you think you are having issues with high estrogen then pay attention to the warning signs of what would go with that(that’s a whole different topic). Ask your doctor to give you a blood test to check estradiol (estrogen) levels. Go to the Over 34 Lifter Forum if you want to know more.
