I get called up, and the conversation goes like this:
Homeland Security (HS): Purpose of visit?
Me: Extended holiday
HS: How long are you going to be in the US?
Me: 6 weeks.
HS: Thank you, have a nice day.
I positively sprinted out of there before he changed his mind!!!

Speaking as an English woman, there is a lot wrong here at the moment. You can’t open a newspaper without reading about teens stabbing each other, or beating to death innocent bystanders who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. There’s a big yob culture, and it’s down to the fact they outlawed smacking kids a while back so kids grow up with no respect for their elders, and they get let off far too easy when they commit crimes. It’s like Lord of the fucking Flies out there. Whether this thread is a troll or not, there is definitely a problem in Britain.
But, having said that, there are problems everywhere. Girls may get drunk, but at least they can get an education without having acid thrown in their faces.

Anyway, just thought I would share my views and opinion of my time here as a student.
Aside from the binge drinking culture, rising teenage pregnancy and stds, dismal weather, withering economy, rising nationalism, obesity and unemployment, I think I quite enjoyed my time here.
Despite all that, I might decide to stay here after all, if I find a decent job. I believe decent, hard working people like me can save this country.
