Bring the Pain

Does anybody know what Coach King means when he refers to “back-off” sets in his most recent phase? Is it just sub-maximal loading like its sounds or is there a more technical meaning? I did a search on the T-Mag engine but I couldn’t locate any explanation of “back-off” sets.

He means backing-off the intensity. In other words, decrease the weight and increase the reps as per his recommendations.
