Brewer's Yeast

anyone still use this ‘classic’ health food?

in BB it was rated by Vince Gironda and some others back in the day. It’s still readily available, rich in b vitamins and other micronutrients plus protein. Irretrievably revolting to eat though, seems to infiltrate anything you mix it with as if to say ‘hey tongue, i’m still here…!’

there are tablet versions i guess but to get the volume necessary the powder is best and usually ‘debittered’ these days, though still not nice.

I’ve found it bearable mixed with milk and honey, a bit sickly but ok. Makes a light vitamin rich protein drink.

Any other brewer’s yeast users.

Some folks also rated lecithin as a fat burner and general ‘health food’

Yeah, I got it a few months ago but still can’t finish because it tastes so…yeasty. I think it’s actually best mixed with Beer :-). There’s a better-tasting version that I saw, may check it out sometime.

I hadnt thought of mixing it with beer, appropriate though, and helps the liver whilst making it work too!

I’m hoping someone’s found a mix that actually hides that taste reasonably well, as I’m pretty sure it’s better as a heaped spoonful than as tablets but getting it down regularly isnt too pleasant.

I knew someone who poured it over plain yoghurt years ago, must have had lots of will power or a liking for the taste!
