I just noticed that you seem to enjoy your rowing and you seem to be getting better at it… Competition can be a nice thing for giving you a deadline to try and meet so you improve in ways you might not otherwise. Rowing is cool, too. Very much a strength / power sport. Nice that the concept II’s are properly calibrated etc so you have an accurate measure of performance (unlike most other cardio-type equipment that varies according to the particular machine and gives you lies about such things as distance or calories expended).

My problem with rowing is that I don’t actually do it very often. My technique is far from perfect to be sure. My limiting factor is probably the 25-30 cigarettes I consume daily, however.

Olympic lifting is more like putting everything you have into one stroke. Suits my smoking better :slight_smile: As do sets of no more than 3 reps with a good couple minutes break before the next set.

I will quit one day…

Yeah but if every girl is squating then you have to wait for the squat rack. There appears to be an epidemic of squating at my gym, it sucks. I <3 cardio bunnies, because they don’t use the bench or squat rack. I’m selfish.

lay on your back, arms on the floor, feet on the floor knees bent. let your knees fall from side to side without letting your shoulder come up.

gentlelike, dont “throw” your knees, just let em stretch. ROM will gradually increase.

Awww I’m dying for a smoke several times a week and I quit over 3 years ago :frowning: Ok not totally dying but really really would like, and sometimes dying :wink:

Good work with the DLs, Beauty. As for the warmup, I usually do Good Mornings, torso-rotations, bird-dog, stuff of that nature to warm up and stretch my lower back. Time for coffee.
