I generally prefer my chaos and destruction to be projected outwardly. Interesting video, though. Very interesting.

glut activation warm up; 2 circuits
quad stretch x 8 x 1
reg sky hump and one legged sky humps x 20 x 1; second circuit with 10kg
donkey piss and kicks x 20 x 1
geom whatevers x 10 x 1
jump squats x 16 x 1

BW x 15 x 4 (stiff lower back…maybe from deads last week?)

reg and split x bar x 10 x 1
reg and split x 22,5 x 10 x 1
reg x 32,5 x 10 x 2
reg x 42,5 x 10 x 2
shoes on. really need appropriate shoes. I feel stable, but not connected to the floor. DISLIKE.
reg x 52,5 x 6 x 2
reg x 62,5 x 3 x 2
reg x 67,5 x 1 x 1 (close to my body weight - 148lbs)
reg x 62,5 x 3 x 4
reg x 52,5 x 6 x 2
shoes off.
reg x 42,5 x 10 x 2 - I enjoy this weight because everything is activated.
reg x 32,5 x 10 x 2 - I think going down in weight like this really helps build muscle memory for me. In the future I think I will try less reps going up to my max and then increase reps on the way back down. Maybe then can push it up a bit. Any suggestions?

my arms arent tingling anymore during the squat. thats cool. I dont know what I changed other than building my traps, but its more fun to squat when you can feel both your arms. ![]()
Very pleased to know that you have gotten rid of the tingling arms.
Squat seems to be getting right.
I miss reading about the beer crate glute circuit.
EDIT: Yes, you could probably do with less volume on your squats approaching max because you should be sufficiently warmed up after your glute activation shenanigans. Just my $.02

I’ll take $20.00 from you. Keep going…
SRSLY, Id like to lift more weight. You think I should cut my sets and reps in half on the way up?

I personally like to ramp in a similar fashion, but I would cut the reps for sure. You want to be able to do more working sets close to your working max, IMO.

Everything below your optimum weight is more or less a warmup. Given your activation circuit, I agree with Veg that you need to cut the upswing down a bit. Your working sets should be more work than the ramp-up.
didnt i say all this already?

^ HAHA! Love it Bre.
That is a shite load of volume. Nice numbers tho. I agree with the rest, you can start cutting down some of that volume to increase weight. Just think, if you can do 2x6x52k with all the volume you did before that, if you had a fresher legs you could probably pop off some heavier triples or singles, no?
How do you like to train Bre? Do you like higher reps or singles? I don’t like working in singles, triples maybe, but I generally rock the 5x5. Is there any sort of rep scheme you’d like to adopt?
I love that performance piece! Seriously, next time you come to the city, hit me up! We could totally do some “cultural” things. HAH!

What city? I will totally ‘hit you up’ and down and sideways…and break that futon or whatever that shit is in your salon de estar.
Also. wtf, how am I supposed to know how I like to train!?! I’ve only done this for like 10 months now. But now that i think of it, this is a GREAT question.
I like to feel like I’m doinrite. I dont want to sack form for weight. I like feeling warmed up. I like sometimes taking risks? So I guess repping 3-5 is better for loading and I’l get more reps out of my higher weight sets. I need to get a feeling for when my tank is empty. So I need to try for failure more often at higher weight sets instead of crawling back down. even though I really enjoy emptying it out on the lower weight sets because I feel like its solidifying my form - whether it’s good or bad form I still dont know because that bitch-whore-slut CBear hasnt seen it yet. But soon I will post one. Like, within a month or 2.

Bolluda! Nueva York!
This futon has seen a lot chanchadas, so you’ll be no exception. Come at me brew!
Hm…I’m glad I got you thinking. I’ll say this much and leave you to your thoughts. I’ve been told, time and again, that its sometimes best to sacrifice form for weight - as a test, if you will.
I like working the 5x5 system because its easy - you get 5 reps at the highest weight you can do, you move up in weight (its Bill Starr’s program and I add my own accessory work). But I’m also not interested in doing 1 rep maxes, as my goals are to get stronger overall - i don’t really care what the maximum weight i can push/pull is (altho i will test this out every once in a while, plus you need to in order to figure out your working weights, its all done in excel). And finally, I just like the challenge of 5 reps - 1 rep just doesn’t do it for me.
Maybe some of the other ladies can opine on why they like their programs?
Anyways, i think the greater question is what is your OVERALL lifting goal. Do you want to compete? Just get mad strong? That will inform HOW you plan on training, verdad?
You’re a scientist! you should know, you can’t plan your methodology until you envision your outcome.
I agree with the others, when ramping to my max, I always leave the reps in the other sets short. Or else I won’t have enough energy to do my max weight.

You don’t get an ass like yours doing squats wrong. ;D
It’s not bad, but if you want to know your real max, leaving some in the tank in the preceding sets will be better.
