Awesome pics Bre, but is the headband completely necessary?

todays workout:

started to row, but realized I couldnt in the pants I was wearing. too restrictive in weird ways.

Practiced my squat form with and with out the bar. Squatted up to 30kg which is nothing, but I am still strengthening my glutes and hamms so I dont injur myself again. I did one set of 60kg deads which is also nothing, but I decided I just shouldnt push it.

I went to leg press - high reps lower weight around 30kg, reps to failure
hamstring curl - 20, 25, 30, 35, 40kg x 15 reps 2-3 sets each
roman chair- where you stand in the the thing then bring your legs up to you chest for a ‘situp/quad’ burn. Did about 50/until I felt like crying. Added in some horizontal kicks. I felt creative.
calf exentsion with Jenz’ help I feel like I made the muscles bleed.
inner thigh press 20, 30,40,50,60,70kg … slow negatives x 3 , 3 sets. buuurrrrrn
then some handstands. people were asking me about’where I learned that’ today.
My friend is a modern dancer/tango dancer and he used to do it when we went to the park. After some practice anyone can do it.

I think the artist must have had a headband fetish.

How’s the hamstring feel after beating it up yesterday?

My legs/ass feel like I just road a big clydesdale across the country  want massage! Luckily today is my day off. My injured part is okay. It’s not flashing with pain. I am gently moving it in all the ways that it was hurting before, and it seems okay. I’m just going to have to be patient which is my biggest challenge in general.

Also, I must go and buy new dress shirts. I feel like the incredible hulk about to bust out of my clothing… the skinny jeans are also starting to cut off the circulation to my calves… so it must be working

cool pics…
I got a rower for xmas…not fancy, but it does the job. Trying to work up the minutes non-stop. It’s HARD!

yesterdays workout
3400m row 2:14/500m split

I ate a lot before my workout…which was good and bad

Benching

bar, 20kg, 25kg, x 10; 32kg x 5 (4 sets!)
flys with 5 kg dumbbells to failure
curls, 10 x 8kg, 10kg 3 sets
tricep rope pull down 5, 7.5, 10kg x 10 (3 sets)
seated row 20, 25, 30, 35kg x 6 (2 sets)
some calf shit.

I feel obliterated.

Going hiking tomorrow. Need to move some blood into these tore up muscles.

28.01.11: 46km bike ride (Niderweimar → Bad Endback → Niederweimar) …this is the only way to reach Bad Endbach from Giessen. Lahn-Dill-Bergland-Therme | Gemeinde Bad Endbach also try to go hiking around Bad Endbach, there are supposed to be some nice trails.
Gemeinde Bad Endbach

aw, once again your ‘nothing’ is my hard work. thanks for the pics

Yeah buddy!! Now this is what I like to hear!

I didn’t realize that rowing was such a complete and total workout! I’ll have to try it again - for some reason though it just doesn’t feel ‘hard enough’…do you know why that might be? Maybe the settings are off or something.

And that spa-like place looks heavenly! No seriously, I imagine heaven does have a lot of old men lounging around in robes…

Ugh! I’m such a disgusting city kid. I haven’t gone hiking since I was in 2nd grade when we took a school trip to the Appalacian mountains. That looks really nice though. I could very much use some nature right about now.

Enjoy your hike meine liebe!

 Indeed, lots of old obese white men with shaved pubes and still barely visible wangs. But there are nice things to look at as well…Like myself in the mirror j/k…I’m going to blog this… so I will send it to you.

Rowing doesnt feel hard for you most likely because your form is fucked up. Please watch this instructional video. Better yet, put an ad up at a college campus OR craigslist OR your gym and have a real rower show you whats up on the erg/critique your form.

best way to spend the weekend in germany:
http://brestruction.blogspot.com/2011/01/sauna-sundays.html

this picture makes me very angry…and motivates me to go work out. NEVER AGAIN.

todays work out:

I started to squat with the bar but I could feel my fucking hamstring complaining… Instead of giving up, I decided to try to warm it up some how… mustly by really ‘activating my glut’ by squeezing it as much as possible squaring my hips over my rising leg and pushing through the heel. Low and behold:

squat warm up:
split squat with 5kg barbells… just getting balance and position.
with the bar (12kg?) x 9/leg x 3 sets, 22kg x 9 x 3 sets

After I did these, it felt better - like warmed up, not sore or hurting. I dont get a stabbing pain anymore, just a noticeable ache. But after the warm up, the stiffness went away, so I dont think I’m hurting myself by working through this.

regular squat
bar x 7
22kg x 7
32kg x 7 (3 sets)

I definitely have the strength to do double the weight but I don’t want to hurt myself again, so I’m going to do high reps low weight so I dont injure it again until this warm up just seems like nothing. Does this make any sense at all???

Isolated hamstring curl (this doesnt hurt at all, so the injury must be in my glut)
20kg x 13 x 3
30kg x 13 x 3

abductor (lateral gluts)
20kg x 13 x 1
30kg x 13 x 1
40kg x 13 x 1
40kg x 8 x 2

leg extension (quads)…I suck at this exercise…is it because they were tired from the bike ride yesterday? Or is it a mental thing. For my whole life I was paranoid of my legs becoming ‘too big’ and felt very self conscious of them. Now I could care fucking less and I like what they look like so I dunno. I need to un-do the negative thinking
15kg x 10 x 1
20kg x 10 x 3 and you would not believe how much that hurt me. I suck.

Calve extension
15kg x 20 x 1
20kg x 20 x 1
25kg x 20 x 1
30kg x 20 x 1
25kg x 20 x 1

adductor (inner thigh press)
30kg x 10 x 1
40kg x 10 x 1
50kg x 10 x 3

back extension with weight added…the bright side of my body is the wicked strong lower back.
5kg held over my head x 10 x 3
10kg held to my chest x 10 x 1
20kg to my chest x 10 x 3

fuck situps today, I’m tired as hell.
stretch, headstand, that is all.
