I am getting ready thoughts on timeliens
How many milligrams per day?
I would say you are fairly safe if no more than 25 mg/day for 8 weeks.
When I took injectables “off cycle” didn’t start until one week after the last injection. IMO, 6 weeks off is reasonable, so 7 weeks after the last injection.
Of course there are. Steroids tax your cardiovascular system among other things. The more time/frequency on the worse off you are health wise. Orals are generally worse than injectables as they affect your liver as well.
Side note. You generally have to run Nandrolone (Deca) for longer periods due to the ester length to maximize effectiveness. You can run dbol in shorter periods, which is advisable any way due to liver toxicity. In my experience dbol does very little in the way of permanent gains if only ran infrequently. @RT_Nomad had a slightly different experience but also cycled them frequently I believe. I will let him clarify.
I don’t think it is this simple. It’s important to monitor, but steroids make everything grow, not just muscle. Deca has some evidence around causing some heart issues you should read up on. Cardiac hypertrophy is not the kind of hypertrophy you want.

The more you are on roids, the greater risk you are incurring for something not awesome to result over time. There’s no free lunch with any chemical you put into your body.
What that not awesome thing will be is highly dependent on the person and what you are taking, dosage, etc. All you can do is consider the risks vs reward and monitor for the not awesome stuff as best you can.
Regarding blood pressure, make sure to monitor pulse pressure, too (systolic minus diastolic). Anything >60 consistently is a red flag.
Excellent @Meathead56.
I highly recommend folks spend a few hours and read the detailed information buried on this forum in previous posts and threads. The trick is sorting the decent from the not so decent. Good luck with the reading.
Try to read-a-lot before you just jump right in.
Please come back brother. Even with an anogram.
There are a fair amount of anagrams for readalot. Fascinating.
For three decades I ran about 3.5 cycles per year. I started in 1971. There was no technical information apart from a PDR (Physicians Desk Reference). I ran orals only from 1971 thru 1978, which was primarily Dianabol (between 10 and 15mg/day for 8 weeks “on” followed by 6 to 8 weeks “off.”)
In 1977 I started my first injectables with it being Deca (100mg/wk). That year marked my finally figuring how to get cut for a show (I was running Deca plus 15mg/day Anavar). I won two shows and Most Muscular in both (most shows awarded body part trophies in those days, but no weight classes.)
In 2015 I had a complete cardiac test. All was good except my heart was enlarged. I figured it might have been the result of HGH. Maybe the AAS contributed. I am still kicking with less than two months before I turn 75.
Had I read all the information that is now available, and not knowing what was possible to achieve, I would have never taken any AAS. I never thought that I had the potential to achieve the physique that I reached. As I reflect, those competitive years are priceless. So, knowing what I do now, I would decide to take the risk for the reward I had.
I could drop over dead at any time. So there’s that.
I look to Psalm 90:10, “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
Respectfully, of course you would. It is called hindsight. The new user does not have your luxury hence they should think long and hard on risk vs reward. Or not. At this point we have beaten this to death. There are no safe AAS LOL.
Glad somebody got the description here changed to “safer” methods to reflect that message. Not sure Dallas McCarver would feel the same way as you. To the newbie: Tread carefully with the concepts of time on and cumulative dose.
Your dosing was smart and miniscule compared to today’s standards. Of course the genetic mortal would not be pleased with the results of your AAS regimens. Hence the genetic lottery component. Congrats!
I must admit I love pissing into the information ocean.
Could you please give us some context? Age/training experience/reasons for being on TRT etc…
Clearly, I failed miserably with my explanation. I am saying, with all the negative information on AAS there is today, had I known then what I know now, I would have never discovered the potential in bodybuilding that I had.
Today, the new user doesn’t have the “luxury” of trying AAS unaware that there are some significant negative consequences. I had that “luxury.”
It doesn’t take long to figure out that genetics is the most critical “x” for succeeding in most all sports. Bodybuilding included, if you consider it as a sport.
You might as well expand that to “There are no safe pharmaceuticals.”
Yeah, i think you are giving the new user a little too much credit. Ignorance is bliss and judging by the new users popping up here and elsewhere they dont read too much.
You did the very best with what you had. Well done!
And you did convey that part. Just the last sentence in the same paragraph was sketchy. Excellent admission and many dont have your brains and reading comprehension. Besides we all do what we want to do. Godspeed.
Also, to expand on this…
Dbol gains are mostly temporary unless you plan on say running it 6 weeks, 6 off, 6 on and repeat. It will be bad for your lipids and liver. I’m not saying “don’t do it” just trying to set expectations. If you do take it, would love to hear how much you retained after 6 weeks off of it.
The math geek that I am must ask: When does week 0 start and when does week 0 end?
Starts right at the beginning and ends soon after that
Pretty decent numbers. I wonder how you could have waited so long on creatine.
The only thing I could say is :
1/ Your expectations are a little bit high… especially the Arnie thing : Did you know he’s known for eating D-bol like candies (back in the days)
2/ As soon as you try your first cycle, you’d probably have to stay on or be on cycle most of the time… So it is not a one-time thing. At the end of the cycle, either you’re satisfied for the result and want to hold on the gains, or not fully satisfied but want to retry
In either case, you’re expected to have many other cycles
It only makes any sense to compare your weight to someone who is the same height. Back when I competed, my rule of thumb was 10lbs per inch. A person 2 inches taller than me needed to be 20lbs heavier than me to look to have the same amount of muscle as me. Of course, that assumes the same conditioning. Plus the wild card component of muscle bellies and muscle “pop” when flexing. (I have seen on here someone using 8lbs per inch, which is probably closer.)
Agree, i tend to think arnold was around 250lb during commando/predator, but height adjusted (he is 6’1 or 6’2) i would need about 280lb @ 8 or 9% BF to get topsimilar as im 6"4, weight about 260 and 9-10% BF
