Brandon Curry Gets Pro Card!

Yea - this guy is insane.

What great conditioning - he looks fantastic. Classic proportions, tons of mass - amazing physique.

I’m happy to say I was not someone who ragged on him when he first posted here. The guy always looked great - now he’s just ridiculous.

I saw this guy in a NO X-plode ad

You know, this guy would have been THE chance for Biotest to sponsor a great up and coming pro, get the sympathy of the bb-interested people back and maybe even change the “all pro bbers are ugly monstrosities” opinion of the more mainstream-oriented guys to some extent…

Talk about missed opportunities.

well, it was Biotest customers (T-Nation) that seemed to think they knew more about bodybuilding than Curry, called him lazy and basically said he would amount to nothing. to quote the Dark Knight: sometimes T-Nation gets the heroes its deserves…

He’s signed with BSN I believe.

You will probably be seeing him a lot more now…

Interesting. The man does have a great physique, congrats to him. I’m curious the see the old posts and threads that people were talking shit to him on. I really, really like this guy’s aesthetics. Reminds me of Bobby Lashley’s physique… except more cut-down.

amazing to see how far he has come. and here is another one he did a bit after that

Damn, those pictures are nothing compared to the vids.

Anybody know if he’s still actively posting somewhere ?

It damn sure isn’t here.

This site effectively ran off most of the people who stand out to that degree. I doubt most serious lifters browse through this site and really feel welcome anymore. The ones who have been here for years are still around because we know what this place USED TO be like.

He is BSN sponsored now so giving this site free publicity by posting here may not be in the cards for him.[/quote]

ProfX, the problem was that he wasn’t functionally fit. Maybe if he would have done less bulking and some more bosu ball squats he could have hung here

The thing is people thought he was a troll because he was claiming monstous numbers while weighing 175-ish and looking way bigger than that. He was also saying shit like he eats candy and doesn’t lift consistently and yadayadayada… The facts are he has unreal genetics and has obviously worked his ass off. Congrats to him.

I just read through those threads. Man!! The guy, as his name implies, is certainly gifted. He looks great (no homo) and no doubt did he work hard, but does controversy follow him everywhere? Every thread just imploded.

I’m ambivalent about his posts. On the one hand, the guy has obviously achieved a state of body that only a fraction of the population could even dream of. On the other hand, he really offered no perspective and didn’t have anything insightful to say about training etc.

Having said that, it would still be nice to be able to pick his brain.

It’s crazy to see his lifting stats when he was that age… fucking A!

Honestly, what is there to say about training? The biggest guys I know work the hardest and do NOT complicate this. The smallest people I know are the ones with graphs, flow charts and notebooks at every training session. This shit never has been complicated.

I see people on this forum trying way too hard to “sound” intelligent. They use terminology that I wouldn’t even use when speaking to patients in the clinic yet they are making the least overall progress.

Hard work never required a PhD. Consistency never even needed a high school diploma.

Lift heavy shit and eat clean. How much more insight do people need? I realize I’m oversimplifying here, but what more did you expect from him? The biggest guys won’t have much more advice beyond that.

EDIT: Terrific. As usual, Professor X was too quick for me. This is why we could never be together. That, and you have icky man muscles.

nah mak, your not oversimplifying. Oversimplifying would be “lift heavy shit and eat food”. Clean requires a little effort and most could realize that they don’t even need that. lol Just a high protein “food” diet. lol

jk by the way…

I know you’re kidding and all, but I’m pretty sure that deep down every lard ass in the world knows that fresh vegetables, fruit and meat would be considered clean.

Yea I agree with you…

Well i was kind of kidding. I was saying that you don’t even need to eat clean to build muscle. If your eating enough cals to grow and lifting heavy weights you will still build a bigger and muscular physique even if you are carrying a keg around your abs lol.

So for some, like the over analyzing 15 year old that’s breaking down how many calories he gets, counting carbs, following some funky training regime worrying about the “charts” etc like X said above…he just needs to lift heavy stuff and eat food. lol not even worry about eat clean.

I was just kinda bein a smart ass before, but still with a point that probably doesn’t need to even be brought up…just killin time after work bored at home ya know…lol

Yes-- eat, lift… We all know that. It really is that simple.

But let me ask-- Why go on a message board then? This is a place for discussion (for better or worse).

I’m the last person in the world that wants to complicate anything, my routine is simple and it works for me for now, but it doesn’t mean that I’m not interested in how someone goes about in their training.

The other day I started a shoulder thread. OK, maybe the obvious answer is “Just shut up and go lift something over your head and eat”. BFD. Turns out, got a couple good suggestions out of it.

I come here to learn, and if from the thousands upon thousands pieces of bullshit in the forums I can mine a nugget of information that is going to help get the next rep or plate, I’d like to think it was worth it to ask some “pros” what they do.

There are a lot of flavors of ‘simple’.

Why do (did) you read BB mags? Why go to Internet Forums? I mean really-- wtf is anyone here for?

Wow, I can’t believe that I’d ask of a pro that maybe they might talk about their training in a bodybuilding forum.

Christ, next thing you know the ‘Cooking Forum’ is going to be full of “Just turn on the fucking oven and throw shit in there”.

The thing is, in the threads mentioned above people were more interested in bickering and flaming than asking about his training. The few that did were drowned out by all the pointless drama; not very condusive to any meaningful discussion.

He did, however, discuss his training a bit in these threads…

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1429156&pageNo=0

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1695710&pageNo=0

Doosl- thanks for those links.

You see? How hard was that? Someone asked for a snapshot into his training, and he gave a general overview of he might do this, or he might do that.

That’s interesting and informative.

Congrats to Branden. His build is awesome.

Reading through those old threads were hilarious. So many haters…

I come here to discuss the lifestyle with other bodybuilders. I am not trying to “learn” how to lift. I already know how to do that from years of trial and error and from getting an education in how the human body works. The point I was making is that even though I got that education, the reality is that it is NOT that complicated and never has been.

Your hard work and determination are what produce results for you, not how many different routines you can quote verbatim or how many multi-syllable words you can string together to sound like you know what you are talking about.

No one can talk their way into getting you to not miss even one of the six meals you plan to eat for an entire month.

No one can talk their way into getting you into the gym without fail 5 days a week for YEARS at a time.

No one can talk their way into cooking your food for you ahead of time and actually making this a lifestyle and not some short term “diet” that you will fail at later.

This is bodybuilding. YOU are your own limiting factor.

If most of these guys would simply get in a gym and quit micro-analyzing everything and just fucking eat and lift heavy until they gain 20lbs of muscle, what they would learn in the process would aid them from that day forward far better than any one ‘article’ that has EVER been written. There would be far more people making significant progress than the very few doing so on this board right now.
