Brain Function Boosters

I went for a run this morning and found that I was curiously carefree and felt absolutely no stress whatsoever. I’m not sure if it is just coincidence, which is why I’m asking: has anyone noticed a mood enhancement when taking the vinpo? I’m also taking a few other things ( ephedrine, caffeine, oxi, multivit), so I’m not sure if those would calculate in or not.[/quote]

Yep! The first thing I noticed when taking the vinpo was mood elevation. Over time it’s either worn off or I’ve gotten used to it - probably the latter. About the ephidrine, that usually makes me quite anxious at higher doses, and “happier” at lower doses, I’m not sure if this would apply to everyone though.

Bushy - it seems like it may have been the ani/oxi combo that set that cocktail off. I’ve heard good things about combining different racetams at lower doses.

My thought is that you can keep individual doses of each racetam low, whilst still being able to keep the total dosing high - thus avoiding/reducing sides and retaining the nootropic effect. I would guess (and your experience supports this) that combing a hydrophobic with a hydrophilic would enhance this further…

It’s sadly ironic that I have the most time and dedication towards study during the evening, which is when I can’t take the boosters for fear of sleep interference.

Same here… I just took 1 x Caffeine-Free Spike, 10mg vinpo, and I’m sipping around 500mg oxi. If it was earlier I’d be having 2 x regular Spike, because honestly the caffeine free version seems to do bugger all for me (I’m just using it up now).

Bushy, compare oxi to ani, please.(if you have’nt done so already. Thanks.

damn, Bushy, I just read up on Tardive dyskinesia. It’s an interesting symptom and probably a good argument in favor of exercising moderation with the stuff we’re taking. I love the prospect of using things that have drastic affects on my body and mind, but in some cases, there is still no conclusive evidence as to whether these are completely safe for extended use or not.

Oh well, I type this as I prepare to drop an 800 mg dose of oxi in preparation for reading about metagenomic methods to studying prokaryotes :stuck_out_tongue: then I get to study light reactions and the Calvin Cycle in photosynthesis. Luckily I found the oxi before our lecturer started plant biology, or else I’d a goner.

I am 48 and started experimenting with nootropics a couple of weeks ago after doing research. Here is my current stack which works really well for me:
10mgs vinpocitine
50mcgs huperzine
10mgs pregnenolone
This is taken with my morning coffee. I am much more focused, with improved mood and confidence.

Great to hear it middleage, I agree with Epi also, good to be safe and sane with this shit. Though personally I don't think anyone here has gone overboard yet with any of these substances.

I have one dose of about 300-350mg Moda left, and the big one is today. Unfortunately for me personal situations have made studying efficiency take a serious dive and I don't feel prepared for this at all. Wish me luck, I'm going to drop the last dose a few hours prior to class and hope for the best.

Heya, I spent some time reading through bits of this thread and I am interested in trying some nootropics now.

I am a man with a past (pot, acid, alcohol, and other things that I am not proud of). All of that is far in my past, and I do not even drink anymore. I would love to just have greater concentration and memory at work.

After reading some pages of this thread, I was thinking of just starting with Vinpocetine and Aniracetam for now to see how those work for me. I also do creatine and glutamine as part of my workout nutrition already.

This seem OK for a beginner to these? Any specific recommendations you would make to an old burnout looking to start a nootropic stack?

Where are you guys picking up the centro?

I would suggest you start with vinpocetine and or pregnenolone first, these are really cheap. Then add huperzine, but do your own research first…

Hmm, if you’d watched Star Wars, you’d have seen that Ani turned to the Dark Side and became Vader. lol…

sorry guys, that just popped into my head, hahaha

ok back to the topic at hand.

Dude, everyone else abbreviates, but mine you have to pick on.
By the way young man I saw the first Star Wars back in the 70’s in a movie theatre, so you don’t have to tell me about the Force.
Wait. I mean it was the fourth one,or the third, or…I need some more Vinpo.

Well technically preg is a prohormone, not a nootropic.

Of course it can still exert positive effects on cognition and mood, etc, but I feel it’s use needs to be more thoughtout, as it can easily turn to less desirable hormones (Estrogen, progesterone, prolactin) in the body if circumstanced dictate (i.e. high levels of bodyfat, causing greater aromatisation).

Just my opinion though, and thank you for contributing to the thread

Yes, this is true, but very small amounts like 5 or 10mgs can have positive effects on memory and mood. I would not reccommend more than this.

I refuse to take any tests or study without taking 1-2 of Syntrax’s Cerebro. Its ingredients:
Bacopa monniera leaf extract 100mg
(standardized for 40% bacosides)

Huperzia serrata plant extract 1.5mg
(standardized for 5% huperzine A)

Rhodiola rosea root extract 100mg
(standardized for 25% hydroxyphenylethanols, 10% total rosavins, % rosavin)

Vinocetine 10mg

In past I used a 200mg per day dosage of phosphatidylserine (PS) (NOW Foods brand) which worked incredibly well for memory retention. My only beef with it is that it takes 1-2 months of supplementation to really start noticing it’s incredible effects and you have to continue to use it to maintain them (duh!) & it can be sorta expensive.

Cerebro is just cheap and works within 30 mins. PS is better overall if not for the cost.

Hey Johnny Blaze how is the adrafanil going(any sides, when did you take it and do you think it works etc.) and where did you get it.
Thanks, for any help.
