Brain Function Boosters 3.0

Just thought of something… Is there any reason why my Ani won’t be absorbed since I’m taking it with mainly MCT’s (2/3 TBSP EVCO) instead of LCT’s?

Nah… This is an interesting topic and one that I was initially interested in back in the early 80’s. I read Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw’s book on Life extension. I had a doc who gave me Hydergine and DAME. I even experimented with a nasal spray… I was taking courses in Philosophy at the time at the Uof Mass in Amherst.
None of these things gave me more intelligence lol… Yes i did feel i could concentrate a bit more, but did it enable me to comprehend abstract arguments and concepts? No.
Funny what I always found helped was when i was sick lol, i’d sleep more and then pop some Excedrin. and this would enable me to study longer and seemingly to retain what i was reading.

We do know that if one is interested in creativity that one has to immerse oneself with the material for days and weeks, ( longer than that too) at a time and then hopefully something will arise out of this material that one would have never thought before. Many creative souls only had coffee and cigarettes, but these things are not essential. What is essential ( i think) is the filling up of the mind with data and allowing it to percolate into something new. This something new might come to one in a dream, as this phenomenon has occurred or when one was doing something completely different. See the work of Henri Poincare’s biography and his work on higher mathematics.
Any way being mentally shape without subject matter is empty and having ton’s of knowledge without direction is blind.

How much of this thread (and others) have you actually read?

Not much, i’m betting.

Although Prami has some awesome effects on memory (the most, for me, out of all the racetams that I’ve tried, Ani, Pir, Oxi), it is just too much for me in the sense of feeling manic. For now, I plan to take a break from it. I will try again soon with a small dose first thing in the morning to get the nootropic effect without the manic feelings (can’t sleep, time going by fast, irritable, etc.).

Also, has anyone experienced lightheadedness with choline supplements? Whenever more than 600 mg active DMAE OR 6 g of Choline Citrate OR 750 mg Citicoline per day I get this lightheaded / dizzy / almost fainting feeling. Anyone ever experience this? I’ve narrowed it down to this because it happens with multiple supplements that raise choline.

Yes DMAE makes me lightheaded with brain fog…as does TMG…the only choline source that has positive effects on me is Alpha GPC…it has become the most important part of my nootropic stack.

Now that you have said that, A-GPC has never done it to me. I didn’t count it in the list because I only take A-GPC here and there because of it’s price. May just have to switch entirely… Thanks for the feedback.

I found an old sample bag of picamillon in my cupboard a few days ago. Rough-timated 300mg, took it and about 30 minutes later, let out a long breath and sunk into the couch. Bliss.

Gonna try it today if/when my modafinil-induced jitters become too much.

HI BBB, you seem a bit of a guru on all things brain boosting so I was after a bit of advice on Moda.I’ve had mixed results to be honest so i’d love to hear your observations on recommended use if you have the time.

Cheers

Does anyone one of a reliable and safe online store to purchase modafinil?

Yes, it can be a bit expensive, but a cost effective way to take it is 100 to 200mgs sublingually every 4 hours.

Anyway, yes, I’m happy to share my thoughts on modafinil. Just written a litte article on it actually for a friend. He has a ‘mind’ and sells ‘nutrition’ - if you catch my drift.

Hasn’t been posted yet? I just checked the website now

New to this stuff, so forgive my ignorance. If i take Neurostim, is it possible to fit in Huperzina A as well? I have a bottle of both, would be nice to know

BBB,
can you give me any input on the “burnt out” feeling that some people have reported with long term noots. How long have you used them for on a daily basis without sides?
Thanks.

Not so much overanalysiing, I’m supplementing with them regardless. I just wanted someone who has taken it for longer than me to shed some light. on its long term potential (because I’ve recalled you mentioning the accumulative potential of nootropics).
Based on that information, I’m now less likely to fear using noots as a semi-long term regime.

@BBB

Is there any certain reason why someone (me) has no response to Oxi? Up to 1650mg Oxi w/ Neurostim and I had no increase in memory retention/focus… Thanks

You might just be a non-responder. Or something else you’re taking could be interfering or acting “too synergistically” and pushing you passed what your optimal dose would be if it were taken by itself. That is a pretty high dose, so you could have exceeded the bell curve of your optimal dosing all by yourself.
Did you work your way up to that? What other doses have you experimented with? What else are you talking with it?
