Brain Candy Info?

so I’m really like Brain Candy right now, lol… woke up feeling like a sack of shit because of a hard/different workout from yesterday, took some BC, now feeling at 100%.

Today was the strongest I have felt the effects of Brain Candy, focus was amazing and my mood has never been so good.

same here, today I woke up and while my quinoa was cooking, I did a bunch of chores that needed to get done… instead of sitting on my ass watching ESPN, which is what I usually do.

He’s most likely referring to using nootropics to capitalize on neuroplasticity

Shugart has mentioned this a few times in the Indigo spills. Something to do with taking BC for a certain duration, then just taking it as needed afterwards.

There’s that.

How does this compare to Spike? Anyone?
Totally different product. Spike is pure energy, where Brain Candy is mental boosting.
Not quite right I think.

Spike is definitely a mental booster as well. It is merely a form of vitamin B. Guess what’s in Brain Candy? Vitamin B.

My experience has been that combination of nootropic substances are synergistic. But the right combinations vary from individual to individual. The ingredients in Brain candy are good stuff, and technically it could serve as a base for additional nootropics. BUT, this is a touchy thing and not something everyone should do unless you are REALLY experienced and willing to add things in SLOWLY at LOW amounts.

I’m curious why Biotest chose CDP Choline instead of Alpha-GPC. Could be because they already have an Alpha-GPC product, but for me, Alpha-GPC is the king of choline sources.

The only ingredient in Brain Candy right now that prevents me from buying up a whole bunch and embarking on trying it out is the caffeine. Caffeine destroys me. I become a jittering fool with it. I am anxiously awaiting the non-caffeinated version.
I meant more that you wouldn’t take a Spike Shooter before a mid term. Unless you want to distract everyone with your foot tapping. While yes there is a mental boost with Spike, Brain Candy is a totally different level.

I’m really anxious for your eval.

I relied heavily on Spike Shooters for the LSAT, and that worked ok for me. I think Brain Candy would have done me better (I agree that Spike isn’t best when you need to sit in a chair for extended periods of time lol), but I don’t deny the effectiveness of Spike as a focus booster.

I am going to Miami to go hang out at clubs way past 3AM into the next afternoon. I would like to go drug free- would this product assist in staying up for periods over 24 hrs long?? I tried taking Spike tablets and all day energy shots to club space in Miami a few months ago, and actually it made me feel worse and more tired- maybe took too much , but still it didn’t have desired effect. Was hoping Brain Candy had the ful I need to stay alert, awake, and dance ready.

Are you planning to drink at the same time?

Brain Candy is a nice boost, but IMO it doesn’t have a heavy enough stim effect to keep you up for 24+ hours. I definitely don’t think it’s remotely comparable to anything you’d be taking if you were to not ‘go drug free.’

FTR, I drank (a lot) on Brain Candy last week and it wasn’t anything too crazy. If anything, I was just too aware of how much more I enjoyed the Brain Candy without any booze in the mix.

Edited to fix quote.

This almost made me ‘lol’ in real life. Ha, Christ. Makes me wonder what sort of crazy sh** people in my LSAT room three years ago were doing to prepare.

I do remember, though, that the first minute of the first section I was sort of in “holy sh**, this is the most important test I’ll probably ever take” mode. Not sure whether a stimulant would have helped or hurt that sentiment, lol.

Huh i did nothing like that for my mcat. I actually did not study as much as i should have. Took it in half the time that was allowed. lol. I have never relied on stims or anythign for studying. Never needed it.

I agree with this. I think it is impossible to optimalize a product for everyone, but it seems like a good baseline product. Also the taste is interesting to say the least… I have heard that some people like it cold, but I personally do not like the flavor at all.

That being said, I like Brain Candy. I bought a case and I will likely buy more in the future, though as an obsessive-compulsive I am going to experiment to try to make it more effective for myself.

LOL… assuming it reduces anxiety enough, you may find your OCD tendencies go away…

Lol. I was putting in 60 hour weeks prior to taking the LSAT and I had to make liberal use of Spike to extend my window of productivity each day beyond what is really ideal or reasonable in order to fit in HW and LSAT studies. I just made sure to take the test under the same conditions.

Realistically, a lot of students who were prepping under similar conditions likely turned to ritalin/adderall/vivance/etc. I was trying to steer clear of that route.

Is there a caffeine free version?

Lucky you lol. I’ve always had trouble retaining information when studying. Noops have made a huge difference for me on that front though. I wish I had looked into them more prior to the LSAT actually- probably would have done better.

Yes, though I didn’t like it as much. Not sure if it’s available at this point in time though, check the page lowfattmatt linked.
