Brain Candy Info?

Well, I am a believer in liquid based delivery. Biotest’s alpha-GPC works way better for me than alpha-GPC capsules for example. The ingredients are all good stuff, and in a liquid delivery base. I have to try it and make the comparison.

ALC is good stuff for me.
Tyrosine is great too.
CDP Choline is going to be great to take as a break from alpha-GPC.
DMAE…decent stuff too. Not as good as alpha-GPC or CDP choline, but decent choline source.
L-theanine…nice calming element. I take bacopa now, but I think a break from it with L-theanine would be nice.

Basically, this is Power Drive in a liquid form. Add piracetam to this, and voila…something nice!

Hm - so about 100 bucks/month for this stuff…
Think I’ll pass for now but thanks to everyone for the reviews & info - very helpful!

That’s a definite! Gotta see how many T-heads we can round up.

haha I’m already 3 shots deep, I think I found the holy grail. Whats the reasoning behind taking Brain Candy at fixed times?

To get the most of the cumulative benefits and to reprogram the brain.

Well, tried the Brain Candy yesterday and liked it a lot. Significant mood improvement (most things were more entertaining than usual), and it was easy to focus on whatever I was doing. Hit the gym a couple hours after taking it, and had a pretty solid workout. I’m working on explosive training right now and a lot of my workout is activation oriented. That usually leaves me in an almost cracked out place mentally, but with the Brain Candy in the mix I had this interesting zen master feel going- I was calm, but still extremely dialed in and explosive.

Hope that’s somewhat useful for those of you trying to decide whether to jump in or not. As someone who’s pretty experienced with various “study aids” (no-ops, stims, etc) I think Brain Candy stacks up pretty favorably and have ordered a case of it. I already have a solid no-op stack that I use regularly for the cumulative benefits, but I’ll be using the Brain Candy for an extra boost when I have serious assignments… also probably for when I go out, realistically lol.

EDIT: Also, as far as time is concerned- I’d say I was noticeably happy/calm/hardcore focused for something like 4-6 hours, but I was still relaxed and upbeat when I went to bed about 9 hours after taking it. Did not hurt my ability to sleep at that point.

Hmmm, sounds similar to many other pre-workout-oriented supplements. Not that that’s a bad thing.

I know something in it is close to 1.3d, so that bodes well. I will monitor this as I hear reviews from established and reputable members further.

Eh, I don’t think that’s the best comparison. It’s not as much of a buzz-type focus as it is a calm and collected type focus. It’s more like a focus due to relaxation (sort of a mental balance thing that cuts down on the normal distraction that occurs due to being preoccupied with a bunch of shit) than a focus due to being amped up, if that makes any sense.

And I think the mood boost is much better than focus boost anyway, though the focus boost is still there. There was this kind of unshakable contentedness with Brain Candy that I’ve yet to see with anything else.

It’s kind of weird and difficult to describe what goes on with mental feelings and such, but that’s my best attempt anyway lol. I definitely think it’s worth trying at least once for anyone (maybe worth waiting until single bottles are distributed to stores), though I still need to experiment with it more before I’d consider making it a staple preworkout supp or noop.

Buzz or not 300mg is a lot of caffeine. I usually don’t get jittery from that amount, but I definitely get a mood boost and feel great from it, and I’m not sure I could differentiate that from these other ingredients. The rest of the ingredients don’t seem to be very noteworthy in my opinion, at least not to the extent that the hype machine built them up. This doesn’t seem much different than Spike, but I admit I haven’t kept up much with the conversations on this topic.

Does anyone know if this offering going to affect the availability of Spike?

I had an experience very similar to bigmac. Really good focus and sense of well being for a solid 6 hours. I laugh a lot more than usual and can focus during lectures much better. I’m curious to see if there is any “reprograming” effect from using it routinely but I can’t afford that. I’d like to see if anyone else notices anything from taking it every day.

No, Spike will still be in store. Power Drive is not to be taken if you are taking Brain Candy, and even it is still being sold in the store. Dude, it’s NOTHING like Spike. FYI I tried the caffeine free version first and had the same calming/focus/positive mood effects.

The mood boost from Brain Candy is entirely different from a high caffeine dose mood boost. I’ve had plenty of experience with heavy doses of caffeine and I think the mood boost from Brain Candy is far better. I don’t giggle at nothing when I drink asinine amounts of coffee, I did with Brain Candy.

SRS Don’t compare it to stims. The ingredient list isn’t particularly exotic and it does have a lot of caffeine, but it DOES NOT feel like a typical energy drink/preworkout.

300mg of caffeine is not a lot to anyone who is even mildly tolerant of it.

Sounds interesting.

I imagine the liquid delivery is much more convenient way to take it anyway, and effective as buffd_samurai put it.

How does this compare to Spike? Anyone?

Received my Brain Candy today!!! I know I am supposed to take it in the morning, but I couldn’t resist. Hoping to plow through a paper tonight.

Totally different product. Spike is pure energy, where Brain Candy is mental boosting.

Not quite right I think.

Spike is definitely a mental booster as well. It is merely a form of vitamin B. Guess what’s in Brain Candy? Vitamin B.

My experience has been that combination of nootropic substances are synergistic. But the right combinations vary from individual to individual. The ingredients in Brain candy are good stuff, and technically it could serve as a base for additional nootropics. BUT, this is a touchy thing and not something everyone should do unless you are REALLY experienced and willing to add things in SLOWLY at LOW amounts.

I’m curious why Biotest chose CDP Choline instead of Alpha-GPC. Could be because they already have an Alpha-GPC product, but for me, Alpha-GPC is the king of choline sources.

The only ingredient in Brain Candy right now that prevents me from buying up a whole bunch and embarking on trying it out is the caffeine. Caffeine destroys me. I become a jittering fool with it. I am anxiously awaiting the non-caffeinated version.

I can relate to feeling the same way with caffeine. 300mg really hit me like a ton of bricks, starting to get used to it now though, not as bad as the first few times. The caffeine seems to give me a nice boost in the morning. The only thing I find with a lot of caffeine is I can be tired but not able to sleep. I hate that feeling, but by taking Brain Candy in the morning, I fall asleep no problem at night. I am liking the clarity I feel when taking Brain Candy, I want to get some caffeine free so I can take it at night when studying after I feel the initial dose wearing off.
