Lol at being a coward for running away from what we all know is a system that is either going to kill you or put you in jail for most of your life.
Sure.
Just as Afghanis are cowards for not forming a 17th century firing line to be mowed down like daisies.
Unless you conform to a code of conduct that allows the US government to snuff you out at will you are a coward, live in your moms basement and are quite possibly gay.

You’re right, instead Afghanis use women/children as shields, very brave indeed.

For some odd reason I don’t think that’s what the Marine Corps. means by that.
No, but some people take it to its logical conclusion.
I think they are more or less in their 3th century of fighting, those who strived to be the most gallant corpse will probably have been succesful by now.

For some reason this conversation reminded me of this article, written way back in the old days when people actually thought that sending ground troops to Afghanistan and taking out Bin Laden would actually make a difference.
Orion makes a good point, even if he does understate the number of centuries the Afghans have been kicking invaders out.
There were Afghan tribes who were fielding insurgents to fight against the invading armies of Alexander the Great. The Romans lost an entire legion when they tried their hand at a punitive mission against the Parthians. Closer to our own time, the Afghans bankrupted two empires, the British and Soviets, who imagined they could control them, and they don’t show any signs of getting tired now that we’ve shown up to give it a try.
How do you say domari nolo in Pashto, I wonder.
