Wonder what everyone thinks about this. I’m a huge Kovalev fan so if this truly comes to be, I think it’d be great for him since Stevenson really seems to be ducking him. I have to give credit to Hopkins, the guy’s got balls. To go for the toughest fighter in the division first is the mark of a true champion and something Mayweather should take note of. I’d give a large edge to Kovalev in this fight but, if anyone can beat him, it’s B-Hop. If Hopkins does beat him, I think it’d cement his legacy. Gotta love those light heavies.
Anyone watch GGG vs Geale? Gennady is a beast. So excited for his future. Hope Cotto takes a stab at him next, but will prob fight the big money Canelo fight.
A question for the big boxing posters, what makes GGG so great? His power? How he cuts off the ring? I love boxing but have no real insight other than just being a casual fan.

In no particular order: His chin, his footwork and his power. He is very good, it remains to be seen if he is truly great. I would love to see him fight Cotto.
What ever happened with the alleged PED scandal involving Gamboa?
Is it just me or is it more than coincidence a lot of these beastly cats start having bad performances right after someone raises some alarm bells?
To revive this thread, I think we all got a bit of a shock last night.
Hard to believe Jermaine Taylor is champion of the world once more.
Once my favourite prospect, it’ll be interesting to see what he can do now.
I read somewhere this morning that now Jermaine just has a huge target on his back because he’s the easiest one to go after if you want a belt. I believe that to be true.
His chin can’t handle this anymore. His next loss will be ugly.

So much promise.
I’m genuinely afraid that GGG will seek him for unification.
I wouldnt mind seeing him vs. Cotto for a pay day for both.
Being from Arkansas, I am a huge Jermain Taylor mark. Pretty sloppy fight last night, was hoping that JT could get Soliman out of there after the injury but Sam is one tough dude. But before we even discuss his next opponent he has a big legal battle coming up in the next couple weeks. 1st degree battery and aggravated assault is some serious stuff, and GGG would probably be facing the same charges if JT steps in the ring with him.

Anybody think Rubio will make it past round 7? I say fight get stopped in round 5-6 due to severe bodywork.

Should it go beyond 7 I think we’re talking facial injuries of the Pac vs/ Margarito variety.

Rubio actually put forth a spirited effort - he did try.
However, I think GGG psychologically broke him.
Visceral power, but what impressed me were his shot selection and the adjustments he made in flight.
