Bowel Issues

Alright, so. I’ve been cutting for a while now, so I cut out all the extra pastas, rice and so on. Now, I still eat a wack load of veggies so I really don’t know what’s going on here.

But pretty much the whole time my turds have been rock solid, and todays… well it just god damn hurt and I don’t know why it’s like that. From the veggies I eat, I’m still getting fibre in my system which I thought should help, but it seems no matter how many veggies I eat it still feels like shitting a titanic.

Would my best bet be to get some fibre supplement tabs or what?

If you are getting enough fiber i would recommend some digestive plant enzymes to get things moving. They’re cheap and they really work.

Add a plum with breakfast,

Add psyllium,

and be sure you’re drinking a shitload of water! Fiber without sufficient water will do the opposite of what it’s supposed to.

And double check your veggie intake, might not be what you think.

Probably fiber supplement tabs would be easiest. Low-carb diets tend to harden stools, with fiber tabs you could vary how many you take until the bowels start behaving themselves again.

I agree that it’s more than likely not enough water. How much are you drinking? If you’re drinking over a gallon or so a day, then it could be something more serious.

Obviously you’re taking in enough fiber, so I don’t see the need for fiber tablets. You could even try adding a little more carbs temporarily, and see if the stools change.

Also, are you on any kind of medication?

Water wise, I drink 4-5 litres of water a day. The only shit I’m taking now is ephedrine and caffiene.

How much ephedrine?

Is the caffeine in tablet form, or liquid?

Water intake would be my guess too.

EDIT: Just see your reply. Well both eph and caffine are diuretics, but you drink too much water for that to affect you really.

Could just be that the change in dietary habits has got your intestines in a transition state. Hopefully they’ll sort themselves out soon.[/quote]

The reason why I asked about what form of caffiene he takes, is that when I drink coffee, I have to shit at least once after drinking only the first few ounces.

It’s usually an angry poo, too.

Hmm.

I’m taking the caffeine that Allmax makes at the moment. 200mg tabs.
I usually only take em before my training as I’m fairly low on calories compared to normal and I don’t have the push in the gym I usually do when I’m calorie heavy.

I just ate some 3-4 cups of veggies in one serving about 2 hours ago. I’m also taking something to help soften my stools. Last time I took a turd I actually cried it hurt so much :frowning:

…I’m never going to jail

Nice jail reference LOL, are you talking any fish pills or a blend like flax or Udos oil? Perhaps your fat intake is too low. That could move things around a bit. Worse comes to worse try miralax. It’s a kinder gentler laxative.

I was out of Fish Oil for a good month. As of yesterday I finally got more, yay paychecks. So I’m back to about 5ish grams of omega3 a day. About 8g of fish oil daily + any actual fish I may eat.

You could probably up that a bit or add flax oil pills so long as you account for the extra calories. It might help lubricate things a bit.

I have the opposite problem in the mornings. Mine are kind of loose, almost like pudding. During the day, they are just fine.

I get a minimum of 30 grams of fiber a day from food sources, and I’m on a 35/25/40 breakdown (protein/carb/fat).

I eat the same thing every night before bed (cottage cheese, peanut butter, cashews and a carrot).

Should I get more fiber at night or try something different for my final meal?

One big glass of prune juice will do it

Check out flax meal - add a tablespoon to whatever 2-3 times per day. I mix it with cottage cheese or in my shakes. If that doesn’t do it try adding chewable fiber tabs, but I suspect the flax will do it for you.

Solve the problem here.

Man, I was having bodybuilder turds. Excepting blood vessels in my eyes weren’t the only things bleeding.

Ahaha, I think a guy farther up was right. Not enough fat in my diet.

Yep, that’ll do it. I was the opposite; too much undigested fat in my diet.

That and apparently I’m lactose intolerant. Hmph; that sucked.

For cutting; just add a bunch of cheese late at night and on non-training days; very calorie dense. 1" cube is about 100-120kcal. Mmm…

Metamucil was a lifesaver for me.
