Boring But Big Pyramid Sets

I’m about to start a new cycle. For the last cycle I did 60% of my TM.
Now I’m considering doing my BBB sets in a pyramid fashion as outlined by Jim:

Up/Down
Set 1 â?? 50%
Set 2 â?? 60%
Set 3 â?? 70%
Set 4 â?? 60%
Set 5 â?? 50%
Make it a little more interesting.
Has anyone done their BBB sets like this before? What was your experience?

Last squat day I did this pyramid on good mornings. In my opinion it’s interesting, but doing close ramp is better. :slight_smile:

Close ramp? Do you mean ramping in ascending/descending fashion?

I mean something like this:
50 kgs for 10 reps
60 kgs for 10 reps
70 kgs for 10 reps
80 kgs for 10 reps
90 kgs for 10 reps
Or just use 2,5 or 5 kgs jumps.

I personally like to either pyramid down from my top set or just shoot for 50 reps. Otherwise, I just feel like I’m over thinking it and I’m definitely against thinking

I usually do 60% so descending down from my top set starting at 70% to 50% in 5% jumps (5 x 10) would be the exact same total volume. Maybe I’ll have a play around. See how it feels.
