Boiled Chicken = Lower Sodium Content?

Does boiling frozen chicken breast lower the sodium content?

If so, by how much?

It’s amazing what an internet search can turn up.

100 g chicken breast raw: 99mg sodium
100 g chicken breast boiled: 80mg sodium.

UMMMMMM plain boiled chicken.

Why are you avoiding sodium?

Just lowering it a bit, it’s already pretty high.

Excessive sodium levels can cause water retention, which I’m trying to avoid at this point.

Eww…you’ve got to be fucking kidding me. Just barbecue the chicken and don’t be afraid to consume sodium. Cooked chicken is gross…unless consumed with horseradish…mmmm…horseradish…

Actually,if you are having a problem with water retention, you should do the opposite. Up your sodium intake and drink tons of water.

I have a feeling that your water retention is coming from another source. You’re not going to make a difference by boiling your chicken.

What does the rest of your diet look like?

How about you just prepare it whatever way is most convenient and eat it.

eww boiled chicken. blech. Grill it!!

Heh, well I really enjoy boiled chicken. I don’t know why, maybe it’s this chemically laden Dallas water that makes it taste so good.

I was just curious about the sodium content after boiling.

I’ll try upping my sodium and drinking more water. I drink a couple of gallons a day as is, maybe I should drink more?

FYI I am 6’4" 223 @ 8% bodyfat.

ive done the boiled chicken thing. Its not bad.Its actually more juicy than grilled.
All you do is add seasonings to the water and boil it for like 15 minutes.

Its great if you forgot to cook and have VERY limited time.
